When was the last time Xbox had a new 1st party IP?

1st Party is important as it is guaranteed it will not go to other platforms. So when was the last time Xbox had one? was it Gears of War?

Newest one is Halo Spartan Assault. Unless you go back to the E3 and then you have Ryse, Sunset Overdrive, Project Spark, D4, Crimson Dragon, Below, Lococycle, Powerstar Golf, Quantum Break, Happy Wars, etc.. Ascend: Hand of Kul came before Halo Spartan Assault.

They're releasing a bunch of TV shows next month, the comeback starts then. Get hype.

gears of war was probably the last one, i may have a ps4 but my intention is to buy the xbox one once price is down and the new model comes out it's to big but i am worried about the state of their first party line up.

i mean there main party games are gears of war, halo, fable, forza.

halo is being made by a different developer than the creators,

gears of war creators have cut ties with microsoft and now are free to make games for all systems.

fable is fable and there next game is just an online game i believe.

quantum break looks intriguing but it's from alan wake creators it may take them years to bring it out, i remember when alan wake was a launch title and then we never saw it for ages.

Lococycle. It was created by Twisted Pixel, which is owned by Microsoft.

Ryse is an Xbox One exclusive game published by Microsoft Games Studios. It is a 1st party game.

They have had dozens of new IPs since Gears of War game out.

I agree with the rest of your points though, I wouldn't expect a whole lot from Xbox One's first party games.

For those answering Ryse and Gears of War. They are NOT 1st party games. Ryse was developed by Crytek and Gears by Epic Games. Neither of those studios are owned by Microsoft

M$ did everything good at the E3. They showed nothing but games. 1st party means Microsoft owns the games and publishes them. It doesn't matter who develops them.

Lococycle is first party game. M$ owns Twisted Pixel Games. The other two games are 2nd party games. Max: The Curse of Brotherhood, Project Spark & Ilomilo are all 1st party games.

All the games u mentioned are 2nd party games. Dont try to educate people on what 1st party games are when you dont know yourself. 1st party games are games like Uncharted, Halo and God of War.

Yes Lococycle is the only 1st party game from MS you mentioned.

MS doesn't own Ryse,or Crimson Dragon that i know of,MS publish those games which is not even close to be the same.

No matter who does Halo 343 or Bungie MS owns that IP,Any of those developers could release a sequel of those games on PS4 or other platforms hell or even the own games,we all know MS published Mass Effect to and landed on PS3 regardless hell it even had the logo of Only on xbox,that is associated with exclusive xbox games that never go multi.

No matter who makes infamous or Uncharted those are sony owned IP's,Ryse isn't Crimson dragon isn't either.

I've never seen anyone in the industry use 2nd party to define a game. 2nd party is a made up forum term that posters use to differentiate between games made by a dev owned by one of the three console manufacturers and a game that's simply funded/published by an external team. Just another way for them to say game x doesn't count... Any game published by MS, Sony and Nintendo is viewed as 1st party titles by the companies in question.
