When will u be jumping into next gen?

This whole generation thing is starting not to make sense. It used to be a leap which was immediately heard and games that came out for the new stuff simply could not be done on prior consoles. Buying prettier graphics is not next gen.

what last gen game released within 6 months of x360 that was not possible on ps2? its the same shit every gen, nothing has changed

I recently picked up a Wii U and will be getting an Xbox One shortly after E3. Only then will my journey to the dark side be complete. PS4 can wait.

I jumped on board with the Wii U. No plans to get either PS4 or X1 unless they come out with an exclusive I really want. I have my PC for multiplats.

they could have made kameo for ps2 but they would have to tone the graphics down, there was a ps1 game which had hundreds of enemies on screen. if kameo qualifies then so does dead rising.

Then the next console purchase will probably be whenever The Last Guardian, Kingdom Hearts III, or FFXV release.

Been playing on my ps4 everyday for quite a while now.

i just completed arkham asylum yesterday and it was EPIC. reminded me a lot of bioshock, the personalities of the villians is what made the game a stand out along with great gameplay. started playing arkham city today and it is EPIC, arkham knight should be a blast.

So what was the leap from 5th gen to 6th gen then? The leap was incremental in every sense unless you consider the ability to play DVDs on your console life-changing improvement ... There IS a trend in video game consoles it is there is always one incremental generation after one big leap generation. It's just how technology works especially with consoles because you can't swap out parts. It's certainly not like the dark ages when technology was constantly incremental until the industrial age but we've come a long way ...

No way could they have done that scale with AI and all. There was State Of Emergency on PS2 but the crowds had no AI, they just ran back and forth.

And absolutely Dead Rising would be impossible on PS2 as well. But it didn't come out in the first 6 months, which was your specified time frame :P

obviously consoles sell themselves on their exclusives, that's what's got to change for me.

Have both..........but rarely play them. Such a large back catalog to go through on PS360 and not enough compelling titles (other than Watch Dogs) on next gen.

LOL 2nd post. Sorry TC, your opinion doesn't decide what gen consoles are in. WiiU began the 8th gen, period.

the games the X360 got in its first year hardly looked any better than Xbox games. Just look at those horrible Call of Duty 2 screen-shots... Yet the Xbone already has Ryse and the PS4 is even more powerful than it.

The X360's GPU only has like 40 stream processors while the PS4 has 1152 of which 256 are there just for GPGPU to help the CPU. In GPU alone the consoles are an even bigger leap that the X360 was from the Xbox and that's not counting the Ram and new and better architecture with stuff like OoOE.

I think the issue here is that PC gaming with its mods and rapid evolution of HW has made people have very unrealistic expectations. Because right now games already look better than how early X360 games looked compared to the Xbox. Killzone Shadow Fall looks incredible and this has been said even by hardcore PC gamers like Angry Joe in his review of the game.

i was referring to dead rising on xb1, that amount of stuff going on in the game would probably not have been possible on x360, mostly because of the graphics. every gen game are just more refined, the only exception to this is n64 with the jump from 2d to 3d. after that gaming has mostly just been about refinement. motion gaming was last gens gimmick but vr could possibly provide the next leap in gaming.

I'll probably get a ps4 a few years from now when they are like $250. I like naughty dog and a few of the other in house teams they have so when they start to finally release games for the system and their is a decent backlog I can buy on sale I might get one.

I'm not in a hurry. Probably in a year or two.

I'd wait a year before jumping into the 7.5 gen consoles. On the other hand the Wii U is getting a few fun games now.

Probably late 2015-2016. I think my PC is somewhere between a PS4 and Xbox one in terms of performance, and it'd take a next-gen Tales game to convince me to buy a PS4.
