I buy mulitplats for my PS3, so when over half of my games collection is exclusives I think it shows a strong library. While my 360 library is ALL exclusives, since I buy multiplats for PS3, the fact that I only have 6 games, only 2 of which are any good and stayed exclusive (Alan Wake, Splinter Cell Conviction) the rest (Halo 3, Gears 1 and 2) I thought were awful games, and the 6th is Mass Effect 2.
Microsoft's audience consists of people who-
1. Blindly believe their game(s) is/are exclusive.
2. Pay for an online service with the fallacy that it is superior.
3. Buy crappy hardware with a high failure rate and an increased service warranty.
4. Buy overpriced proprietary adapters for wireless internet that are already included as a standard in competing hardware.
5. Buy outdated hardware.

First, System Wars, not Fanboy Wars, your comments seem to skirt that line.
1. Prove this offensive comment, better yet, don't strain youself.
2. People have preferences regarding Live and its community, just like they have preferences regarding PSN and its community, it has features PSN does NOT have (It's downloads are faster, it has cross party chat, it is better moderated, it has minor apps that may appeal to particular audiences (ESPN, LastFM, and the like), , so you might want to add "Pay for an online service with the fallacy that it is superior...IN MY OPINION"
3. Way to live in the past. A.) Prove that in the past two years this is still the case. B.) As someone's who has had console's break on him in four out of five generations I've been playing video games, I absolutely appreciate MS's increased service warranty, as this has been the FIRST time in decades I didn't have to pay fix or replace my console (e.g., I had to pay Sony $125 to fix my PS2 last generation).
4. Way to live in the past. A.) Its built-in on current 360s B.) the adapter that is built in is FASTER than the one in the PS3, so you know you can actually stream 1080 movies without the stuttering C.) Even before it was built in there were always relatively cheap workarounds for a wireless 360 D.) Its not wise to use wireless for online gaming unless you absolutely have to.
5. A.) LOL, as is the rest of the console competition, including the PS3. B.) The PS3's GPU is even older than the 360. C.) I've read the PS3 would have come out sooner, but was put on hold to add Blu-Ray, if true a decision I'm sure Sony regrets, not that they would want to deprive you of a misinformed cheap shot in System Wars or anything.
[QUOTE="Silent_Ninja87"]I have both consoles and love both. Neither is perfect. But I hear people say that the 360 has this massive line up if games over the years. Honestly halo, gears are the only 360 exclusives that I care about. The rest of the games I like for 360 are multiplats either on PC or ps3 or both. Like Mass Effect and left 4 dead for example. I can honestly say I dont give a crap about fable or Forza. And games like Alan wake, too human etc were just okay or just downright garbage. I was like man now that I think about it halo, gears, Forza, and fable are the only heavy hitters for 360. The rest if the line up is comprised of mutiplats. It's not as impressive as I thought. Not saying the ps3 dosent have it's share of duds. But just saying the so called massive 360 library isn't that impressive. Thoughts? sdu_1111the 360 library itself is indeed impressive, but when you just compare exclusives then it really isn. someone in another mentioned that if you do compare the high scoring exclusive of the 360 its mainly gears 1,2, forza 2,3,halo3,odst,reach ... whereas for the ps3, or even the wii you do think of more different and varied franchises. to put things in perspective, when i think of exclusives 360 has this year, its another gears, its another forza. lack of variety in exclusiveness i guess. unless you do enjoy kinect games , or exclusive dlcs
Because Lost Odyssey and Death Smiles and Alan Wake and Banjo Kazooie: N&B and Ace Combat 6 show NO diversity right, just more shooters and racing games?
And the upcoming games like Gun Loco and Project Draco and Codename D and Codename: Kingdoms and Haunt and Steel Battalion are all old, overused IPs that lack diversity and remind me of Gears and Forza. You do realize that most of those Kinect games have been announced as Kinect compatible, NOT Kinect required, right?
And the PS3 exclusive line-up for 2011 on the other hand is full of diverse new IPs like Killzone 3, Resistance 3, Uncharted 3, Little Big Planet 2, and Infamous 2

That PS3 list seems a little padded. Especially with things like WKC2, where the first faired, well, not so well. Also, PSMove Heroes is in there twice :P
Still, it's a good lineup.

Remove N.2 and you'd pretty much have the PS2 fanbase :P @TC: PS3 and 360 are pretty much even overall in retail titles. Any preference would be purely subjective. However XBLA is a major advantage for the 360s library compared to PSN.[QUOTE="Verge_6"][QUOTE="Nintendonly"]So wrong... hows the notion of multiplats not defining a console wrong? even so, the 360 versions of multiplats are getting from okay to worse. last year PS3's dante's inferno receive the death edition at the same price that 360 owners pay. PS3 versions of tales, starocean, me2 also has more content despite the timed-exclusive bought my MS (which is better ask yourself, exclusive content? or timed exclusive) ps3 version of deadspace 2 came with an entirely free game. and portal 2 ps3 will come with the pc/mac version. ps3 version of FF13 is nodoubt more suprerior than 360, a games sold so well there's a squeal coming. least you forget, advantages 360 multiplats have over ps3 are minimal framerates and texture differences so often hardly noticed if not compared side by side. whereas ps3 multiplats so often receive more game-changing content than the 360 counterpartsHere is the problem- multiplats don't define a console.
sdu_1111
1) How does not getting a certain edition make Dante's Inferno worse? It played fine from what I remember. SO no it's not worse
2) Can't comment on Tales and Starocean, but the PS3 version of Mass Effect has no extra content. All the content was/is available for 360/PC users.
3) At least with time-exclusive everyone gets it. Where exclusive only some people get. But both are dick moves by Sony and Microsoft
4) FF13 is true
5) Black Ops, Red Dead
6) terrible practice and up there with exclusive dlc
And this is thread number eleventy-billion on this topic...
The fact still remains that the 360's library is just as diverse (if not more so) as the PS3's when it comes to exclusives.

It actually is one of the best and most complete libraries on a console....ever :P
Why would i care if out of about 900 games you can only see Halo and Gears?

Because those other games can also be played on the PS3 and or PC.
Thoughts like that are the reason why 360 is so underrated in these forums. In fact 360 does have as much good REAL exclusives are...say PS3. Just take a look:

I'll throw out the fact that Tales is only available in West on the 360 (you can import it for the PS3, but of course it will be in Japanese, and it is a RPG after all, not exactly the most import friendly genre) and it wouldn't surprise me if timed exclusivity had ALOT to do with the decision not to localize it. Star Ocean sold considerably worse in America on the PS3 than the 360 despite its "improvements" (Which were quite minor, it added some foreign language tracks and let you change the Hud-menu style), it even sold worse in Japan on the PS3 than the 360 and there was 4-5x the installed user base on the PS3 there at the time. Further, the PS3 versions would not have been improved at all were it not at Sony's insistance and the money MS provided for timed exclusivity. You'll also notice that it's the Japanese games that MS paid for timed exclusivity for, because they have tried pretty hard this generation to broaden their appeal in Japan, a strategy that in some ways has worked; they've sold more than 3x as many 360s in Japan as they sold original XBs (versus 2x as many in other regions), but in terms of market share has been underwhelming. It's a long term strategy however and they have a foothold now, a lot of relationships with developers, you'll notice 5 out of the 9 upcoming 360 exclusive games are new IPs coming out of Japan.
And I'll also re-iterate there have been plenty of defining multi-plat games, in both previous generations and this one as well. In addition to the multi-plat Mortal Kombat games on the Genesis, people also remember that console for EA's sports games, also mostly multi-plats. In addition to Tomb Raider and Wipeout, the early PS1 was also defined by Battle Arena Toshinden and Ridge Racer, more multi-plats, and later Resident Evil 2, still another multi-plat. Almost all the defining PC games have been multi-plats, from Maniac Mansion, Ultima IV,V,VI,VII, Doom, Duke Nukem 3D, Quake, Starcraft, Half-Life 1&2, Command & Conquer, etc., etc.
The very fact that sdu_1111 is listing the superiority of PS3 multi-plats ironically demonstrates that multi-plats DO define consoles. PS3 fans on the board have made sure everyone is very, VERY aware that FFXIII on the PS3 is the definitive version (even though there is functionally no difference between them beyond higher resolutions in cutscenes), if people thought more highly of FFXIII it might very well have become one of those defining games for the PS3.

I can play Mortal Kombat Deception, Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory on my 360 right now (they are all BC). Merely bumping up resolution does not make a new game. If it did No More Heroes would now be PS3 exclusive, as would Bully for the 360, but it doesn't, and they aren't.
