[QUOTE="Vandalvideo"][QUOTE="deangallop"]Seeds are only there helping, I'm talking about total complete downloads.I found a Crysis torrent with 1103 seeds right now.Vandalvideo

Now I know you're just blowing steam. I'm not gonna say which site I'm checking, because that will get me suspended, but its ont of the largest sites. The one with the most seeds is 50, with only about 300 leachers. So yes, you're blowing steam.

Your not looking at the biggest site obviously. Keep an eye on you messages tab.

Oh, I am, trust me. I know a few things about piracy, things I can't say cause I don't want to get suspended. Yes, you are blowing steam.

Look at your messages it's there now.

Skewed numbers that mean jack. Piracy is still a scapegoat used by companies like ID and Epic when they bring consolized crap to the PC.

I actually agree with your point, UT3 is almost frowned upon within the pc community. I do however think piracy is a big problem overall.

Doesnt matter until the games stop coming, currently there is no indication of this.

Can't you come up with a better rebuttle? Those are skewed numbers. ID and Epic are the ones that are crying wolf about piracy. Problem is, their games are largely online based and are worthless to pirate. Not only that, but EA has constantly said that Crysis has not only met their expectations, but exceeded. That wouldn't be possible if your link was anywhere near reflective of reality, which its not. Truth hurts, eh?

What makes you think those are skewed numbers, their accurate almost to the point ( the website refreshes often). Your in denial, and the funny thing is that's only one torrent. There are plenty with high seed counts. Gears of war PC has plenty of total downloads and so does Call of Duty 4. Company's are losing big money, if your too dense to see that then whatever, go live in your fairy world.

There are tons of ways to skew numbers for torrents. They mainly do it for traffic. People see a tracker that has so much more than the others and they get more hits. Its like putting up an ad saying "HEY, I HAVE A WORLD EXCLUSIVE TRAILER OF GTA!". Add on the fact that the next tracker behind that only has 50 seeds. Theres something seriously wrong here. Not only that, but EA says the sales are fine, and have no intention to port it to consoles. Companies are not losing big money from piracy, the PC has the MOST announced exclusives, and it doesn't look to be changing anytime soon. GO live in your fairy world.

Yeah, I see a ton of torrents with 1000+ seeds. You don't know what your talking about. You should just keep going on like piracy isn't a problem. If I can't convice you that piracy is a huge problem with a link that proves that piracy is out of control than I don't think anybody can, so I'm done with this argument.

Nvidia and Intel are funding PC gaming cause otherwise without any games none will buy their high end parts that make more money for them...

You cant pirate an 8800GT even if you download Crysis EA-Crytek are still getting your money...

So Piracy will be battled on hardware level...much more effectivly than the preowned industry thats costing the console industry 1bil every freaking year...not to mention all the flashed consoles that pirates dont even need internet connection to steal games just rent copy and play....

I only see one, the one you showed me. All the other seeds are greatly below that one, wh ich leads me to believe the numbers are skewed. Your link DOES NOT prove that piracy is out of control, it merely shows some skewed numbers. Sorry, I proved you wrong. Go fish.

Well, one thing to keep in mind is that EA in particular is very well aware of the effects of piracy and what to expect. Their Crysis expected retail numbers were put out there with piracy already taken into account. How much higher would it be without it? Who knows. Something else is that these big gaming companies, unlike the RIAA and MPAA, are a younger industry, more experienced with the internet as a whole, and how to work with it and take advantage of it. In short, they're not stupid. They're very well aware oh which protocols they want to keep an eye on, and won't go off half-cocked like the music industry did.

Dunno where the OP is from, but a brand sparkly new AAA PC game is mostly 40-50 euro's, whereas most console games of the same type are 60.

When PC games cost 25-37 euros and console games cost 60-70 euros...its just the USA that has cheap console games and overpriced PC games...

BTW hows the 360 doin in Japan?

True_Gamer_
Sorry, but PC games are also cheaper here in America than console games, so I fail to see your point.

What is this a joke? Go to Play.com and see for yourself...none of the PC games are at 50 euros apart from special editions which are expensive on console too...PES2k8 was at 26 euros at dayu of release...at that same time the PS3 version was at 60 euros and the 360 was at 55 euros... http://www.play.com/Games/Xbox360/6-/RegionHome.html?cur=258 62 euros and going strong...

http://www.play.com/Games/PC/6-/RegionHome.html 28 39 at most 41 euros....

You really believe that.

I just went to a torrent site and saw a counter for a Crysis rip that had

and no I'm not lying

199,137 total downloads.

deangallop

That's probably from areas of Europe and Asia that is ridiculously high on piracy.

Those regions have always been a non-factor for sales even console games are pirated like crazy.

Console piracy is faaar more dangerous because it happens under the hood...everyone is so focused and brainwashed on PC piracy that if anyone comes with a rent-copy-play system they wont even notice...
