He seems to like Sony, so I wouldn't be surprised to see him working with them and that's where he should be. However, it'll probably be as an independent developer with Sony having the rights to the games.

Would be fucking amazing if he went with SONY but he wont, and if you think about it... He is only god for MGS and that is pretty much over with this last game coming, so what else is he good for...?

He will go independent and go and make deals with EA for a game or two.

I want Kojima to stay with Konami because it's the only way Silent Hills survives. But Konami is committed to telling one of the greatest directors in the industry to **** off, so it's all on them.

I'd hate for Kojima to get picked up by Sony or go independent. I'd really hate for Metal Gear to continue without his name attached to it. There is no other video game franchise that I associate with a single person than Metal Gear and Kojima.

I expect MS to throw every dollar, make big promise of support and open new building for him in Japan. And after 2 or 3 year MS kill Kojima studio.

Or his team can join Sony Japan studio and codevelop GOTG quality game such as Bloodborne. His choice.

Nintendo. He would be given the freedom he wants along with the expertise of a experienced team who can get the most out of his vision.

I imagine Kojima is at the end of his creative career, I mean not saying he doesn't have talent or anything but maybe the guy is done with the exhaustive legwork of game development and maybe he'd rather be a publishing executive and/or producer rather than a creative director. I mean, after all he didn't even want to do MGS4 years back and he basically got dragged into that with death threats. Thinking about it, MGS4 was pretty bad IMO, maybe he was attempting to sabotage his own work in hopes nobody would make him work on another. That didn't work. He stepped away from MGR, that didn't work. He made a $40 MGS5 demo, that didn't work. Maybe all that Kool-Aid drinking praise from fanboys made it that much harder to step away, maybe he's just at his wits end with it all and needs to do some soul searching.

Well you're far from being alone on that man. A LOT of people still believe that this is just Kojima generating buzz for MGSV/SH with a whole new level of viral marketing.

I'm not on board with the idea myself, but holy shit I would love for that to be true.

I'd rather him go independent, personally.

He should do what he wants. If he cares to keep making games, he should start by setting up his own studio and prototyping, then start courting publishers (who will more likely approach him first).

There's no other peak to reach if Kojima goes to work for someone else.

@Crossel777: I don't think he doesn't wasn't want to create games, I just said he might put himself up higher on the totem to take a more executive role. I imagine that's very exhausting work to do as a game writer and director, and well he probably earned himself a spot outside that kind of responsibility, he can still have creative input as a higher up.
