Everything about PC gaming is lightyears above what a console can do.

Jandurin

oh please. That's just silly. "lightyears" my ass

specially considering lightyears is a measure of distance and not time, so in reality all he said is that the PC in another place physically

How so? A mouse is a control scheme that detects motion. Essentially making it a motion controller. Not to mention it's more accurate and responsive than console motion controllers.

kolkov01

the mouse is stuck on a 2D plane, the wiimote isn't

That doesn't make the mouse any less of a motion controller ;)

well, i was more arguing with his implication  But, yes, consoles are from earth, PCs are from venus or summat.

In my case the 360 effectively won over all other gaming systems along with other Lems. The PS3 effectively beat the PC as well so did the Wii to the gamers who purchased each and prefer them over other systems. The PC isnt a Godly gaming system that has the potential to end all others as the Hermits like to believe. But its not only the Hermits,I guess, that has that sort of mentality around here.

. So Im thinking, are console gamers ignoring the PC because there is no way to fight it?Swift_Boss_A
No. We're ignoring it because we're really not interested in getting one. The PS3 and 360 are near-perfect substitutes; someone who wants one could almost certainly be happy with the other. The PC (and the Wii, actually to a greater extent) is not - if you want a console, a PC isn't likely to make you happy (and vice versa).

I believe their comment was regarding the system wars, not regarding platform adoption.

Like Batman Vs. Spiderman

spider man should be able to beat batman soundly >_> Edit: HAHAHA

Spiderman would dominate Batman, dude.

You beat me to the punch.

I don't know... If you've read Marvel's Civil War comics, Spiderman was kind of getting his arse kicked by Captain America in regular Marvel, and Captain America and Batman are *really* close in ability levels by all indications. When it all comes down to it, Spiderman is not all that well a trained fighter - so despite a *massive* physical advantage, it's conceivable that a guy like Captain America could beat him.

Technically, Captain America was washed out by a storm drain. Batman won on the votes (those fights were decided by fan votes - I mean, Wolvervine beat Lobo? Come on!), but they didn't want people to say exactly what you're saying, so they left it with Batman officially winning, without actually beating Captain America in a fight.

i knew some of them were decided by votes, but I never actually read the DC. vs. marvel storyline

I heard there was also a Batman vs. The Punisher and Batman lost....how the hell did that happen?

as for wolverine defeating lobo... it only further proves my theory that Marvel is turning wolverine in to an overpowered good guy, I mean come on, spider-man defeated the entire x-men team in the late 80's, this should give people an indication of what wolverine used to be

[QUOTE="Ace6301"]As it is now I would say the PS3 is probably the closest to the PC at the moment. UC2 looks amazing (not as good as Crysis of course but it gives quite a few other great looking PC games a run for their money) and it's online is comparable to the PC as both primarily use dedicated servers and don't charge additional fees for online access. At this current time I would say the power of the CPU is more important than the power of the GPU in making a great game. Brownesque
Um, no, the CPU is absolutely not more important than the power of the GPU in making a great game. Last time I checked games haven't been rendered by the CPU for ten years. The Playstation 3 doesn't have your common every day CPU, it's more like a CPU-GPU hybrid and that's why it's so capable at rendering graphics. Compare that to the PC market where the CPU is more or less the same as it ever was but GPU's are taking over with on-board physics acceleration and pseudo-CPU functions.

No matter how you put it, GPU's can only be as powerful as the CPU.

If the CPU isnt there to back up the power, how can the GPU have enough power to do what its supposed to do.

Its like trying to build a giant skyscraper without a support beam.
