[QUOTE="AzatiS"]Im gaming since ATARI 2600 , i was active gamer to all gens back then. I easily vote for PSone gen. And thats because the transition from 2D to 3D was a huge step forward and it was then that most tremendous new IPs released and what we play now ( most of ) is because of that gen. Silent hill , metal gear solid , OOT , super mario 64 ,Resident Evil series , Wipeout , Gran turismo , crash bandicoot , Parasite Eve series , Final Fantasy 7-8-9 and the list is so huge seriously. Easily PS/sat/64 gen .SquirrelTamerThat is seriously a really crappy list. None of these games comes close to this gens game not to mention all these games have better equivalents in later gens like; SMG, res evil 4, uncharted etc I mean I'd pick Uncharted over Crash anyway. And I got like 5 Crash games and it was the first game I ever played. And Uncharted any day!
If you think that is a crappy list, then I know never to look to you for an opinion.
I'm going with the 4th gen., those quality games on Genesis and SNES are ageless masterpieces that are easier to pick up and play than any generation. That, plus most are cheaper than dirt, so all in all, this would be it.
Genesis:
SNES:
And then wen i throw in the Neo Geo AES, which is the greatest 2D console ever concieved with it's gigantic list of co op games, it's on lock for me.

The sorry to say it but you werent active gamer back into genesis/SNES era to live in person the transition from 2D to 3D to feel the impact it had to gamers/myself and how different these games felt comparable to previous gens. You choose Uncharted everyday in 2011 , i would choose Resident evil 2 in 1997 every day . Sorry but you dont get what im talking about.
Crap list , Zelda OOT? Super mario 64? TEkken series? FF series 7 to 9? Resident evil 1-2? Man you just said , RE4 > better than oldschool REs... that shows you are not oldschool gamer... means you cant understand what i mean seriously.. in short because of original RE in PSone you had the chance to play RE4.
I respect you taste and opinion though but to have a seriously unbiased opinion on this "poll" you had to be active gamer back then otherwise i dont see how a gamer that started gaming with PS3 or PS2 will ever understand how good was the Psone era or SNESera or even ATARI 2600 era...
Oh I'm sorry I thought the thread was about which gen had the BEST games, not the ones with most impact. All those games have better equivalents from this gen. SMG>SM64 and I'm sure TP is better than OoT. Otherwise you have dark souls which really is a Zelda matured IMO. Yes I am a old school gamer. I played super nintendo, sega saturn and psone. Not to mention all the old school PC games like doom for example. I have both the first res evil and res evil 4 right now on my PS3 and the first RE doesn't stand a chance. I started gaming with the psone and SNES, although not atari 2600, and it was really really bad compared to today. In absolutely every way.Oh I'm sorry I thought the thread was about which gen had the BEST games, not the ones with most impact. All those games have better equivalents from this gen. So what are your top 5 games from the 4th, 5th and 6th generation anyway.

It was a long time ago I don't remember and as I said I didn't like the early gens so I don't really have favorites, but here's some I used to play from previous gens; Half Life 2 Res Evil 4 Kingdom Hearts Fellowship of The ring Age of Empires II Warcraft I Starcraft Doom Quake Crash series Sonic (megadrive) Golden eye (N64) OoT Super smash bros Mario Kart And a whole bunch of others but really most was very unmemorable. Oh and not to mention everything I had for gameboy colorIt was a long time ago I don't remember and as I said I didn't like the early gens so I don't really have favorites, but here's some I used to play from previous gens; Half Life 2 Res Evil 4 Kingdom Hearts Fellowship of The ring Age of Empires II Warcraft I Starcraft Doom Crash series Sonic (megadrive) Golden eye (N64) OoT Super smash bros And a whole bunch of others but really most was very unmemorable.
