Who cares about listing flops? Also, it's early in the gen, so should we look back at 7th gen and list flops? What a mess.
Let's measure the good and successful, fun games.
The system with the most flops could be the system with the most successful great games as well.
The old idiom, "You can't make an omelet without cracking a few eggs" or "you've got to crack a few eggs to make an omelet" come to mind.
Pumping out IPs that miss like Nintendo's Electroplankton or Mystery Case Files: MillionHeir doesn't suddenly mean they are a bad developer or that particular machine has little value.
I applaud the efforts of companies to experiment instead of cranking out cookie-cutter sequels that play it safe (a la COD, AC, etc).
To answer this question, I would think the console with the most flopped games was one of those lame consoles that had no HYPE to begin with like the OUYA. That's right. The OUYA is the winner in having no flops. Congrats to OUYA so let's all go buy one.
This is why we shouldn't worry about flopped games because each flop represents an effort by a team of developers for at least TRYING to make a game for us. If a console manufacturer plays it safe and doesn't produce many games, they win the "least flops contest, lol". If a console developer decides to play it safe and stick to SAFE IPs pumping out sequel after sequel instead of taking a chance financing a bonafide new IP, again should we REALLY be praising that lazy effort?
Agreed. I said something similar in regards to respecting Crytek for at least trying something other than an FPS when they made Ryse. I'd love to see Bungie or Valve make a platformer or hack n slash in third person. Show me what else your creativity can reach like a great film maker.
@Gamerno6666: Halo was a bigger disaster seeing how it's the flagship for X1
It was a disaster for sure, but the sheer amount of content it came with in my opinion more than outweighed the problems, that is not the case for Driveclub. On top of this my understanding and temper remained cool during all of the issues it faced simply because of the reasons why it was happening. It's four games running multiple different engines and netcodes compiled into a single functioning product running an experimental intertwined hybrid P2P/Dedicated match making system which was created simply for this collection.
I expected there to be complication and there were, people who really had a problem with what was happening most likely did not assess the gravity of what this project really entails to function.
Can we phrase this thread another way, "Which console has the most hyped games?"
That is another good way to look at it, and in that case Sony would still take the cake. They drum up their games and system beyond any sort of hype any of it could ever live up to, then on top of this the user base magnifies this hype ten fold essentially leading everything that releases for it to flop.
Unreal expectations always lead to expected results.
Ps4 hasn't delivered any promises yet, but it was the same case with the ps3. I don't like to be critical with systems soo early on for that reason. When gen 9 is upon us then we can properly talk shit about gen 8.
The question does not make any sense at this point of time.
Also, Killzone SF has certainly not flopped.
@robert_mueller: how does it not make sense?
Because it's too early into the new generation.
@robert_mueller: to determine flops? Nope
No, not too early to determine flops, but too early to derive any trends for the rest of the generation.
we're not talking about trends
So you're basically talking about most flops during the first year of a new generation? And what relevance does that question have?
@robert_mueller: it's the thread topic
I know, but the question remains: How does a flop number comparison for the first year of a new generation have any relevance?

That's different, Halo is way bigger and had a bigger budget. The beta for the patch got even canceled because they couldn't figure that out... I had Driveclub on launch. It worked on singleplayer, but i could not create clubs, or even connect online for 2 weeks. Halo had the same thing, Halo got away with it. Driveclub didn't.
From what I have read and heard from different sources,I have to say from what I have learned the PS4 has had the most crappy games on the market.I won't try to sound off like I have had first hand exp with the PS4 and Wii U,because I have never played either systems.I only have the Xbox One and am quite pleased with my Xbox One.
PC, it got some greatest turds EVER ( big rigs of the road racing for instance ) =P
Don't forget Road Sweeper Simulator and Ravens Cry they have both hit the dizzying heights of a 1 but no one hyped them and I doubt anyone expected them to be good. Also there are far more PC games that are good to counter balance the garbage.
Besides PC isn't in the thread title or poll.
there is no point in owning a ps4. it has no good games, and only flops. doesnt even have a capable web browser.
what a useless piece of junk.
PS4. Its been kinda embarrassing. It'll be going on 18 months before the first real chance at a AAAE comes in the form of Bloodborne. If that flops, then you're looking at nearly 2 years before an AAAE happens.
lmao lem damage control thread.
the Xbox/PC publisher can't exactly claim that 2014 was a good year. The company's average Metascore declined by over 3 points, and a mere 30% of its products received positive reviews from critics—the lowest success rate for any of the major publishers. It was also the second straight year that Microsoft failed to achieve a 90 or higher for any of its releases (after doing so in each of the three previous years).
And that's not even taking into account the still-broken Disaster Chief Collection.
I only have the Xbox One and am quite pleased with my Xbox One.
Opinion disregarded. I'm pleased you're enjoying waiting though.
@The_Last_Ride: because at it's core, halo is a great franchise. Drive club isn't. And the mcc didn't get away with anything. It got way more shit from the press than dc did.
Nope, look at the metacritic, big difference. Hell it got a 9 from IGN...

IGN is fucking garbage though. also, most sites dont wait to see how a game launches before they post their review.
The console that get hyped the most. Doesn't matter if it's hyped because of how many it sold, doesn't matter if it's hyped because who the dev is, doesn't matter if it's hyped because of graphics, hype is hype. Hype is the main reason it's selling well since their games are flopping. And the votes here should clearly point out the current console that get hyped to death with the most flopped games. #GreatmessAwaits
@playmynutz:
Killzone was an average game at best. That owl was impossible to control. Don't think that game went through quality control.
A flop is a game that doesn't meet expectations. Most exclusives were not hyped. Neither Knack or the Order were hyped
The order was hype a 7 where have you been the thread is on the very top
@deathlordcrime: It was hyped 7 and 8 by people that hated PlayStation. Mostly hermits and lemmings. Everyone with any reasonable logic could look at previews and see it was going to get trashed.
Unless you can prove it which you won't its still a flop regardless here. Many herms and lems were generous hyping it a 6. There were cows hyping it above a 7. One even tried to make a banned bet that it will score a 8.
The PS4 has had the most disappointing releases so far. It's actually kind of depressing, because they would have had a great library of exclusives even before having games like Gran Turismo or Ratchet and Clank release for the system.
@deathlordcrime: Can you prove the average hype score is a 7? Did you average everyone's score and it came out to 7? I said it would score from a 4 to a 6. We had people like you (Raging Hermit) that were giving it 8s. Look at the posting history of those who were hyping it.

I expected it to get a 5 which I was right why would I hype this piece of trash to be a 8. Dude check the hype thread for the Order it has all the count. Looks like your just making things up I never hyped it a 8 and wasn't even there when score was being hyped.
