Which Console Should I Buy: the PS3 or Xbox 360?

Game talk is all subjective. The reason I would go for a PS3 is because you get blu-ray and free online. You could get a 360 but think about the logic behind the MP. They make you pay to play a game that you already paid for on an internet connection that you are also paying for. It doesn't make sense. Naturally anyone that is paying for it is going to tell you how much better the quality is, but the reality is all you really get are a few extra features like talking to a friend that is playing a different game. The actual playing of the game is the exact same quality as on the PS3. Drakan11

1) From those numbers 360 really looks good, but remember most of the AAAs are games like Perfect Dark Zero that would barely score a 7 if released today.

2) PS3 has way more variety thanks to games like Valkyria Chronicles, Little Big Planet, Heavy Rain, etc. 360 exclusives are basically shooters or racers.

3) Check out IGNs top 25 games for 360 and for PS3 - there are much more PC games in the 360 list, while PS3 has much more exclusives on the list.

See? You were right in your original post, except everything is the other way around ;)

This thread is ridiculous. Instead of listening to all the people arguing in this thread, the topic creator should sit down for about one hour, browse the web and just check out what looks more interesting. The whole argument that 360 for example is better than PS3 because it has 16 genres instead of 13 and how it has X more AAA AA A C B AE and AEEEAAE games than the PS3 is just plain silly.


My vote goes for the PS3. By the way, since we are talking about how 360 got all ze genres, as far as I know,, 360 got no platform games that compare to neither Ratchet and Clanks two and a half game or the Sly trilogy. Unless someone can gief some examples. In fact, I quickly browsed a list and I can't even find one single proper platform game? Obviously 3D here since lol2D don't count.

It depends. If you don't care where your friends are (in NA, they're on Xbox) I'd go PS3. The SP games are typically better and there are still many many huge titles coming. If online gaming isn't your thing, I'd HIGHLY reccomend the PS3, as online is free, so if you want to pop in every once in a while you won't have to pay. You really can't go wrong with either. Uncharted and inFamous are fantastic, but so are Halo and Gears.

This TV cost me $1000 and has more features along with better picture quality than virtually any other LCD out there in its size (including TVs costing twice as much or more). In addition to this Vizio has better reliability than a number of brands which are considerably more expensive.

As another example Kias are some of the most reliable cars on the market and simultaneously some of the cheapest. Volkswagon is more expensive and comes with fewer features standard. Try explaining those away why don't you.

If you played the numbers, you would be probably right, but most gamers play actual games :) 382 vs 307... yeah right. :) My time is precious so I have to choose what games to play and hard fact is PS3 offers more of high quality games from various genres. Id say PS3, despite the 360's supperior library...better exclusives and 360 gamers dont really play those XBLA games and exclusives, they actually only play halo and some multiplat everyone is playing. I have a 360 and i can say this from personal experience.

What will last longe and be better, $60 Nike trainers or $10 trainers made by Slazenger. Pretty obvious and please dont get Cars into this discussion. shahilsyed

Actually most shoes will last just as long as any other pair of a similar design if treated the same way. The exception is of course Doc Martin's, which I'm pretty sure could survive a nuclear blast. The point still remains that your statement as written was and is categorically false.

Youll have to pay for the 360, XBL, play charge kit. Forget about it. Not worth it in 2011.

Compare the exclusives. Look at the downloadable content and games available. Do you want to pay for online or not? Do you want a blu-ray player, or dvd player? Look at the future of both consoles. Are you fine with Microsofts heavy push for Kinect, and not so heavy push for core exclusives? Are you fine with Sony's implementation (of lack there of) of the PS Move? Do exclusives matter to you? These are questions only you can answer. Weigh these items against each other and make your decision.Merex760

Get them both if you can. Best of both worlds. If you can't, I recommend a PS3. It has some real good gems with it :)

Wut. Dark Souls is far better on the Ps3, it's confirmed. The 360 version is a port, meaning the graphics and sound will be compressed and some content *might* be cut.

Pretty sure From Software said that when they announced it,sure it runs off the DS engine aswell which is designed for the PS3 first and im pretty sure its their tradition to have PS3 as lead.

You should look for yourself instead of asking the biased opinions of people who post on System Wars. Since they're on par as far as hardware goes, with the PS3 having the Blu-Ray player advantage, you'll end up deciding depending on which has the best joystick / internet service / software. While the first and third are somewhat debateable topics, I think no one will, at this point, disagree that the X360 has the best online service.

So a guy buys a computer pre-made for 1000$.

Another guy builds a computer on his own using the same components for 650$.

The cost of an item doesn't not necessarily translate into value. Cheap does not equal value. Static high prices also do not equal value. It's not that hard to understand.

Maybe you need to start buying your own stuff before you start going off about how stuff that costs more is better.
