 I personally favor the PS3, however, i am here to give a fair analysis on all 3 consoles. As aforementioned (i like using big words) i favor the PS3 and i think that it'll last the longest, but for a logical reason. This is where SONY was smart. They built the PS3 for the future; there are all new technologies in it. The Cell, The RSX, Blu-Ray, etc. are all ahead of their times.    Â
The 360 would most likely have the 2nd longest lifespan due to the fact that Microsoft has also made it pretty powerful. The HD-DVD component, however is failing; not only due to the fact that Blu-Ray is catching up (and will soon surpass) HD-DVD, but because it has only one big exclusive developer, and that is univeral studios. Despite this however, the 360 will have a long lifespan.
The wii, in my opinion will have the shortest lifespan. For the time being however, the Wii is amazing with it's motion sensing technology. However, this will soon get old, and seeing as though the Wii has no real futuristic technology in terms of graphics, it will not last as long as the PS3 or 360.
PS3 will be longest because of advance technology
360 second technology is good but dvd will be outdated later
wii- it is already out dated the remote can't last that long
Tecnolgy is meaningful such as even though VCR is real cheap it is gone washed out because old tecnology the Wii if it was powerful it would be longest but this dosen't mean PS3 will not fail it might lets wait and see. PS3 will win yea :?
The Xbox 360 is my favorite system out there, don't get me wrong, but the PS3 will be "on shelves" a lot longer than the 360 or Wii...
With the Wii - it's about to get blown away in two years or so by the next Nintendo handheld. It will have games, certainly, but with Nintendo making money on hardware, I see them being keen to get the next Gameboy on the market.
Xbox 360...how long will Microsoft sit before they want to launch a new console? It'll be cheaper for them to jump to their next platform than it will be for Sony...
Sony is locked into the PS3, like it or not they're in it for the long haul, trying to recoup costs and such. They aren't going to have an easy time getting on PS4 development, especially if the PS3 bleeds money.

Let's face it the PS3 is going to have the longest shelf life out of all the systems thats not really saying much because it's not selling so it will stay on the shelf for another 10 maybe 15 years!!!!
It’s hard to predict imo. First of all i think the Wii will continue to sell well for a few more years, but the dated graphics may stop people from buying them 2-3 years from now so Nintendo might be forced to create a new console.
If PS3 sales do not pick up then I think Sony may be forced into cutting its lifespan short and create a new console.
If the 360 continues to be the market leader then im sure MS will support it for much longer then they supported the Xbox. If the Wii(good possibility)Â or somehow the PS3 start to outsell the 360 by a large margin then I suspect MS might abandon the console like they did with the original Xbox. Judging all the consoles current sales right now I would have to say the PS3 is the most likely of the 3 to have the shortest lifespan.
the PS3, just look at the PS2, there are a lot of games to come. And there a great games in those like God Of war 2. If they keep pushig their old console like this when it'll be time for the PS4, it'll be the ps3 that'll have the longer life span.general_KDImaybe more than 10 years lol
[QUOTE="DireToad"]PS3.What he said....
