Since they've both made some changes i'd have to wait until I actually hold the controllers in my hand before I decide. Some genres feel better with the other controller and vice versa.
Awesome sigProbably PS4, as I'm most used to the feel of the dualshock controller. Besides, I've never liked that asymmetrical analog placement anyway.

From past experiences? The X1 controller will be better for me. But I think this could be the time the PS controller is better. Let's wait and see I guess
Of the two I'm only going to get the PS4 but the Xbox One has a better looking controller so far. They actually put the analogue sticks in the right places. Almost every game I play uses the Left analogue and the face buttons more than anything else so it's nice to have those placed at the same height on each side.
Not gonna lie, the XB1 controller looks sexy as hell, and the while the Dualshock triggers and grips are a step in the right direction, the touch pad is going to be as dumb as 6-axis was.
Getting the PS4, so controller-wise, its the one I will go with, it's nice they made it bigger with better trigers and grip. That's said, the X1 controller looks sweet, I like the feedback thing they did with its triggers. The D-pad looks as horrible as ever though.Â
The PS4 controller added more gimmicks that will hardly be used like the sixaxis. I think a reason the Vita is failing because the touch pad thing is a turn off, same can happen for the DS4. You'll probably have to hold the controller in awkward positions to try to use all the features.gago-gagosurprisingly i loved the six axis. used it A LOT for warhawk. The xbox one controller looks more comfy .
I cant stand the placement of the DS analog sticks which is why I seriously doubt I can ever own a PS console. The XBOX controller is much more comfortable and natural to me.ShoTTyMcNaDeS
As a dev, i've had the luxury of getting to know them both intimately. With that said, i'm gonna go ahead and tell you my pick for favorite controller... Dualshock 4. So, this is gonna get in-depth, I ask for you guys to read this before passing judgement.Â
The first time I held the DS4, my mind did a double-take - I literally stopped and stared at the controller. In a lot of ways, the controller looks pretty large and cumbersome. However, my hands were incredibly comfortable. It has a textured surface along the back and bottom of the controller, making it super easy to grip. The sticks have been tightened and tweaked to allow your thumbs to move and navigate them FAR better than the DS3 ever did. The grooves on the thumbsticks make playing shooters a super comfortable experience. The triggers/shoulders are amazing - they have the perfect amount of give for me so that I feel like they go in as far as I want them too according to me pressing the buttons. The triggers now go downwards instead of the DS3's down/inwards, removing that whole marshmellow effect the DS3 had. ON top of that, the upward curves on the DS4 triggers make gripping them super comfortable.
The XB1 controller is very much like the 360 controller, The sticks feel way better as they have gotten rid of that "rubbery" feel the 360 pad has, along with the textured grip along the rim of the thumbstick. The sticks themselves are a little smaller than 360 sticks, however. Its weird not having my whole thumb in the middle of them. The new dpad is wonderful! The only issue me and everyone at my studio has is with the shoulder buttons/triggers.
So, the triggers themselves sorta flare out to the left/right edge of the controller. It feels okay, but the weird thing is that the triggers feel like they stop short. It sorta feels like my finger wants to keep going down when I press the triggers, but the plastic stops them earlier than i'd like them. The shoulder bumpers themselves also have a sort of "click" feel to them, kinda as if they push back against my finger when I press into them. The force feedback on the triggers felt great at first, but my fingers got tired after awhile. It was setup to register whenever you fired your gun, but after firing my gun a lot, my finger got tired and I turned it off.
So, why does the DS4 controller win out? Simple - UI navigation. They haven't fully shown it yet, but expect it when they do the UI walkthrough. Navigating the UI for the PS4 and in-game are AWESOME on that touchpad. The touchpad itself is a button, it clicks when you press it in. Having the highlight navigate around menus and clicking to have it register is far faster than with thumbsticks, and feels incredible. We have the drivers for the DS4 and i've hooked up some PC games to run on it, and it felt great navigating stuff i'd normally do on a mouse with the same controller i'm going to play with, doubly so with the controller being that comfortable.Â
Spoken like a true liar. Prefers one over another without using them o.0 I am the boss of Microsoft. As a dev, i've had the luxury of getting to know them both intimately. The Xbox One controller looks to be the best.
It looks to be a slightly more perfectly designed 360 controller (as far as holding it is concerned), but with greatly improved triggers, and there is no dead zone on the joysticks anymore.

I'm waiting for them to come out, so I can get one for my PC :)
i dont get why people have problems with the playstation controllers, they must be holding them wrong because I got big hands and I have no problem with it.
X1 controller for me. After the flimsy and cheaply made DS3...I don't trust Sony.percechNothing cheap or flimsy about the DS3. I have dropped mine more times than I can remember and the thing still works as good as the day it was bought.
It's mainly just with FPS games that mainly make me use L1 and R1 instead of the back triggers. It's fine when I can use the back triggers and I end up using thes snap on trigger extenders. Even then, though, I still will prefer the contour of my 360 controller. As aforementioned, I definitely like the precision of the PS3 analog, although, depending on how well you deal with sensitive aim, preferences on precision will vary and influence someone to side more on the 360 controller end or PS3. I'm not necessarily trying to call one superior over the other. It's merely a preference.i dont get why people have problems with the playstation controllers, they must be holding them wrong because I got big hands and I have no problem with it.

Nah I know how to hold them, I've been using DS since back when it didn't have sticks. The 360 have a better grip, my hands fit perfectly. Plus there is the left stick position. On DS the d-pad always had the dominant position but on the majority of games I play the left stick is used much more. Then there is the triggers, DS always sucked at them.

I don't like cradling the controller (DS3) in my fingertips, just doesn't feel that natural and it's quite uncomfortable. The 360 controller I can grip and it feels like it contours perfectly to the hand, from my experience.Â

well I would think in any case it's a matter of preference. Walter White's son in breaking bad could drive with two feet on the pedals instead of one and he functioned just fine. Lol. One person's way to immersion might be different than the next's.Â
