Poll Which do you prefer, 720p/60fps or 1080p/30fps (77 votes)
Since it seems this is what the Xbox One will be getting this entire generation I'd like to know which you prefer.

Depends on the game and genre
If the game isnt gameplay heavy (ex: Assassin's Creed) than 1080p/30fps is good enough
If the game is gameplay heavy (ex: Bayonetta or any other Hack'n'Slash) than 60fps should be mandatory
It actually depends on the game. If it's a FPS, Sports game, fighting or action adventure game, you want the 60fps. If it's an RPG, arcade racing game, platform, iso adventure game or point and click strategy game, 30fps is just fine. XB1 always has games that are 1080p 30fps and 60fps. lol!! More are on the way.

lol!!
I prefer 1080p 60 fps & since I own a PS4 I will have that.
^ ^
This plus I have a PC so I even go beyond 1080p and above 60fps sometimes.
Good for you. I compete with other consoles. PCs are PCs. Worldwide sales of hardware is the competition. So PCs are out of the game.
If you go to a movie theater and watch a movie it is 24fps, so I believe that that is probably completely fine for something to look really good.
Oh look. Another person who doesn't know the difference between real time rendering and pre-rendered. Delightful.
None
I prefer 720p/30fps, so the graphics can be 2x better than either case in the poll
Also games are unplayable below 8K and 200fps, anything lower is not considered a game at all

Oh I completely agree. PS4 FTW! I'm not like the silly hermits on SW that try to stay relevant by comparing PCs to consoles. I see them as totally different beasts that can coexist. I prefer gaming on consoles though, I just like Sony's exclusives a whole lot.
If it can run 1080p/60fps then so be it, ftw. 1080p/30fps is fine. I'm not that nitpicky.
But I'm perfectly fine with 720p/60fps. My Plasma can only output 720p anyway. So what the fvck anyway.
And I'm only interested in a PS4, :P
Get a new TV and ditch that crap...
I honestly have no clue if what I am looking at is 30fps or 60fps. The human eye can't really tell the difference in most cases.

Resolution, I can tell the difference.
People still believe this crap?
Is not complete crap some people can't really tell the difference, not all eyes are equal.
But those who can is the difference can spot it easy, the smoothness is quite apparent.
You would be surprise to see the quantity of PC's that can't run at that resolution with 100 frames, hell even some games don't reach that with ultra powerful GPU...
So yeah we know your are a lemming pretending to be a hermit..
Also lol at the hermits who feel neglected every time a topic about resolution and frames is make and doesn't mention a PC...
30fps doesn't necessarily detract, it's just nicer if it's 60. For some games that might be preferable, but in general I'd opt for better image quality, because worse such always detracts. The improved detail and clarity is welcome, but most importantly, aliasing is halved when you go from 720 to 1080. 1080p is the standard. 720p is like...it should not be a thing any longer.
Based on the games I like the most (platformers,Hack n Slash, and Fighters) It's 720 at 60FPS by a long shot.
It's a choice between visuals and performance; Graphics vs gameplay. I'm a gameplay person myself.
Once ya get up to 720p I think framerate becomes more important at that point. So if I gotta choose between 720p/60 and 1080p/30 I'd rather have the former. But 1080p/60 is nice if ya can do it. However, I think that going beyond 1080p/60 is a waste. That's plenty enough clarity. Put more on the screen rather than upping the resolution and/or framerate even more.
How do you come to the conclusion xbone will even be 1080/30? Lastgen ports for xbone don't even hit that lol!!!
