Which do you prefer, Achievements or Trophies?

Topic? Which do you enjoy more, and why? Microsoft's Achievement points, or Sony's trophy level system?

My vote goes towards the trophy system. It just seems easier to compare in game accomplishments.

Trophies are a little more interesting but Achievements came first. I've stopped caring about both awhile ago but I still enjoy the little beep noise that comes with an Achievement.

Platniums feel amazing to get, yet you feel more rewarded when you get achievements.

I'll go with trophies.

Achievements. Bigger amounts and better popup.

Depending on game if I enjoy achievements and trophies, though. In forza 3 it's great, but in mgs4 trophies would kill immersion. Especially when you already have stats board doing that after every act.

I'm not achievements/trophy hunter, but it makes me smile when that popup comes.

Trophies. Sony evolved Microsoft's achievement system by incorporating a RPG leveling system and the Platinum trophy. Achievements do have them in every game because Sony were late but overall Trophies give me a more satisfying feeling with the Platinum.

Achievements for the pop up sound

Trophies for the robust rpg system.

They do the same exact thing, which is provide evidence to gaming accomplishments which can be shared with others.

They're practically the same thing but I prefer trophies a bit more because of the whole platinum trophy. It makes trying to fully complete a game a bit more interesting.

Couldn't tell you since the two PS3 games I have and had didn't support trophies. Right there alone is why achievements are better than Sony's poor attempt at mimicking Microsofts excellent design and implementation.

Achievements because I know way more people that play on 360. They are pretty much the exact same thing tho..

I guess Trophies, since showing off Platinums to my friendslist is easy and awesome, but Achievements get major props for being around first.

Well, just so you know, somethings always going to win a poll here. I don't ever see ties in all my years here.

I've seen about 50 of these Achievements vs. Trophies, and everytime a poll is there, it's always a surprise what wins. I've been in threads that voted Trophies, and threads that voted Achievements.

Would you be surprised if Achievements were winning by a large margin? I've seen that in SW too. I don't pay too much attention to the polls here, I just enjoy the posters more.:P

I don't like platinums... basically because there's a ton of "trophies" I'm not going to bother w/ cause they're not fun, or even challenging. They're just time consuming, and pointless. Any d-bag w/ the internet and a ton of free time can get em.

Do HOME awards count as Trophies? There is more of those than Avatar awards, and they were around first.

I was on the JB forums long time ago and they had threads about Achievements and the opposition of the console with Achievements said things like they were useless, they were point less, they don't add anything to the gaming experience. And lookahere now, the same ones that opposed the fun factor and concept of Achievements are embracing their own variation of it. I am pretty sure a similar situation bleeds here. Achievements will always be better because it is the originator, it is the blue print of the future of fun, in my personal educated reality of opinions. Jump in and Kinect.reanimatedchamp

I enjoy good games and could care less if a game has achievments or trophies.

i like both of them but i prefer achievements more.

I personally enjoy Achievements more. I don't know why.
