Which game do you think has the best characters?

Planescape: Torment of course.

Red Dead Redemption, MGS series and Half Life 2 are all also good.

and actually all the characters in GTA. Even the characters that were hated, were meant to be hated, so they did a really great job making the characters in all the games. At least 3 through IV, haven't really played through much of the first two or london. :P

and also Uncharted 1 and 2.

Uncharted- Nathan Drake (reminds me of Nathan Fillion)

Dragon Age Origins- Morrigan

Red Dead Redemption- John Marston

Mass Effect 1 and 2- Shepard,Tali, Wrex,Legion,The Illusive man,Garrus,Grunt,Miranda and Liara

FFVII is a game that sticks out in my mind with an incredibly strong and likeable cast. Additionally, FFX and FFXII have some incredible characters, but as a whole they're not quite as memorable.

As well, I thought GTA:Vice City's characters were all great.

My favourite character is Ezio from AC2 and ACB. :) Second choice would be Portal's GLaDOS.

But as far as having the most memorable characters? Either GTA4 or Uncharted (as a series). Both have memorable casts and great voice acting.

The Longest Journey, Dreamfall and Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines.

No other game I've played matches up to these three.

Mass Effect and Touhou.

RPG - 2 games. the first being final fantasy VI. as much as I like IV, IX, and X, FFVI probably had the largest cast of memorable, well thought out characters. legend of dragoon is the second. there are so many great, deep characters in that game.

FPS - I dont know really. if you are talking about a wide cast of great characters, I dont know. most FPS games have 2 or 3 at the most. I really cant think of one.

third person shooter - the uncharted games. naturally.

survival horror - silent hill 2

platformer - the ratchet and clank series

other - heavy rain

Gran Turismo.

I liked Kaine & Grimoire Weiss & the relationship between the two in NIER (I liked 'Nier' himself as well). The things they would say to each other while walking around was pretty hilarious. Sort of what Bioware tries to do but not quite as well (or extensive) because there are more characters in their games that are also interchangeable. With that said, Garrus & Mordin are standouts from a mostly stellar cast of characters in the ME series. Others I like, but that aren't really good characters story/development wise (except Ezio), include:

• Sgt. Johnson, while cliche, was pretty awesome in the Halo series.
• Ezio. Developed well of the course of the game.
• Dante & Nero. Dante is Dante & Nero is like Dante & voiced by Johnny Yong Bosch.
• Kratos. A pretty basic character when it comes to emotions, but he's a character that sticks to his guns. Gotta' love how determined this guy is. He isn't immortal, but he simply refuses to stay dead.
• Delta Squad, Master Chief, Commander Shepard & other 'space marines'. They're just too cool not to like.

Devil may cry

Midna > all other character this gen combined.

I have to go with Nathan Drake, Sam Fisher, and GlaDos. I wasn't a big fan of RDR like everyone else and I hate every FF game in existance. Oh and I also have to toss The Boss (MGS3)in as a favourite game character.

Most of the Mass Effect crew... Legion, Garrus, Wrex, Tali'zora, the salarian (his name escapes me, its 6am atm) are my favorites.

I've had my morning coffee... i remember his name is HK-47.... but dude he is your avatar... how could you forget?

Shadow of the colossus has the most likable set of characters I have ever played in a game. Agro, Wanda, The girl, collosi heck even the lizards are ALL great. But most importantly the landscape which I feel is also a character in its own right.

I like the cast of Dragon Age: Origins as a whole.

I also like the cast of Tales of Vesperia as a whole.
