Which do you think?

I think Zelda has the best chance but I think U3 will deserve it more. Mostly because I believe that franchises like Zelda are becoming overrated because of nostalgia.
Uncharted. Zelda is going to be hindered review wise because its on the Wii. Uncharted 3 is exactly the type of action junkie cinematic experience (this isn't an insult btw) with all the bells and whistles reviewers love. Both will be excellent though which is all that matters.

People claim every long-standing franchise is overrated in one way or another.
I personally think Zelda still retains its charm and polish quite nicely.
Because people have such outlandish expectations for U3 after the excellent U2, I'm sure the game will disappoint in one way or another.

Are we really still at the point where we act like games don't get reviewed fairly because their on the Wii? Didn't Galaxy 2 stop all that?

I agree with you.
But, this game does heavy motion, Galaxy only had the spin. Journalists already hate it. "I don't want Zelda with waggle" is what some say. Despite the fact that it's factually not waggle since waggle is a button press while the motions of SS are strictly not -- SS simply can not function with a traditional controller so they are factually wrong. Sad but true

No, but because its on the Wii its going to use motion controls which people will hold against it despite a) it being 5 years, time to deal and b) its motionplus only and people are completely **** at using Wii motion controls right (example ign playing SS). those are factors directly tied to being on the Wii. I also very much am of the opinion that lots of great Wii games get hate because they are on the Wii. If its AAAA here I would say Zelda since even if GS has some terribad reviews sometimes they are a lot better then most other sites but overall U3 will perform better.
[QUOTE="Ninja_Odin"] on a last gen console. SuperFlakeman
Wii U already out?
The power and graphics of the Wii are comparable to that of last gen, it's not literally last gen, but seems like it when in comparison to current gen games on other consoles.
I dont think either game has chance really. Skyward Sword relies to heavily on motion controls, which will detract from it even if it is the best game ever made. And I just dont see Uncharted 3 improving too much over UC2. I smell a 9.0 for both games. Maybe even an 8.5 for Zelda because of teh motion.gamefan67
Nah DKCR got 8.5'ed.
Skyward Sword has the 9.0 for sure, I'm predicting 9.5.
this is sad because it's most likely gonna be the case :cUncharted. Zelda is going to be hindered review wise because its on the Wii. It's hard to say, but I'd probably say that Uncharted 3 has a better chance. Apparently all of the reviewers have decided to skyrocket their standards (KZ3 getting 8.5, Infamous 2 getting 7.5) to levels in which almost no current gen games have a chance of getting a 9, let alone a 10. Zelda will get bashed on for things it may do that are new, or because of it's graphics, etc. Uncharted 3 looks like an amazing game, but Infamous 2 also looked like a fantastic game. Of course both of them are fantastic games, but lately reviewers have been on a roll trying to bring down the scores of such games so that it's nearly impossible to achieve anything more than an 8.5. Uncharted 3 will probably deserve a 10, but reviewers crazy expectations will cause it to drop to an 8, 8.5, maybe a 9 at most. Depending on the reviewer.

Who cares though? I know it will be great, you do, fans will love it. The media can have their (crappy) opinion, we will enjoy games without dwelling on lack of HD graphics, or use of motion control.

GS review is the only review that really counts here, so it all depends on who's reviewing the game...
I really can't picture SS getting it. Motion controls do that. They are simply not as refined as buttons and d-pads in order to garner a AAAA grade. Period.Fraquelli
Mario Galaxy 2 pulled it off. Id say HEAVY reliance of mation control and can ruin AAAAE chances.
It actually works well, but that's not the reason why it won't get AAAAE. It won't get AAAAE because it doesn't have voice acting, you know the reviewer will mention it.Zelda has heavy use of motion control, it has 0 chance of getting AAAAE.

There is zero chance this game gets a 10. Absolutely zero, I will eat a hat if it does. Regardless though, I don't need the media to tell me what's good. I can find all the info I need without reviews. I know which game I'll like more and I know both will be ace. All I really need.
I'd say from what I've seen of these two games and based on what I've played from previous games in both franchises, Skyward Sword would be far more deserving of that score. I bet neither will get the honour of a perfect score though.
Mario Galaxy 2 got a ten because it was clearly the pinnacle of its genre (not because of the crazy accusation thatWii has lower standards). No other 3D platformer even comes close. I'm not sure that either Skyward Sword or Uncharted 3 could boast the same thing for their respective genres

While SMG2 uses motion controls and is on the Wii, its a very well balanced blend. Zelda is heavily motioned controlled. It will be docked for it.

I don't think it will. It will have the most refined motion controls ever, it's Nintendo, and Miyamoto... and Zelda.yes because that's the only things that reviews will hate right? I can name a dozen things that don't involve HD graphcis or motion that i'm concerned with in SS.

Nope, no review will be stupid enough to mention it outright. That's why you research your reviewer BEFORE you take what they have to say seriously. Will SS be perfect? No idea, will have to play it first. Will it be docked for motion? Absolutely yes it will. The other issues are things that will be fault in game design but that's not what I think will be the most obvious thing that denies it AAAA.
Also the motion in SMG2 was used well and appropriately. It wasn't entirely minimal but it was a familiar blend, Zelda won't have that benefit. SS looks to be well done but we'll see how it turns out. Zelda is much more arguable in terms of what is important then Mario.

The sky is a big sprawling overworld with plenty of floating islands, dungeons get alternate pathways that unlock and encourage to revisit them, rupee's are actually useful, and there's an over all emphasis on exploration.

You quoted yourself and called it DC lol
Uncharted 3 has a better chance. I do have a feeling it won't feel as polished as Uncharted 2 however. 2 years just seems too short for a game like U3. U2 seemed to be pushing it at the time. Uncharted 3 may be short, lackluster, or glitchy because of it.
For Zelda, I can see the Motion Control being overbearing or possibly not working 100% of the time, something reviewers won't take lightly. I can also see the motion control being tiring after awhile or the game being too hard. IGN also complained about the endurance meter Link had during E3. GS said as well that the controls for the bird weren't natural at first, or something similar. Overall, I think Nintendo may have gone a little overboard with the controls. Putting it in everything, not because it would make it better, but because they just wanted to do it.
If they wanted, a company like Gameloft could port Skyward Sword to an iphone and the resolution would look better than what is being presented on the Wii.

I'm probably one of the few who doens't give a crap about Motion in SS. IF it works then it works..i don't care. I care more about how they go about dealing with Core Zelda gamepaly elements. Sidequests, Huge overworld, mini games, Great dungeons, clever puzzles, introducing newer items, making improvements to combat, getting rid of gimmicks(like Wolf link) and tedious filers. Also trying something new with the story would be nice ala Majora.. I don't want to meet some girl and have her turrn into Zelda...again. I don't want a new enemy introduced like that new dude only for him to Bend over and shout"my lord ganon" by the end.
