The advantage of not every one having a mic.:P
Though the Uncharted 2 community is the best I can remember. Almost every one is nice and helpful.
The only time I felt there was a decent community in a game was Socom. So Socom

Ah yes, Socom.
So many memories. I loved that game so much. It required skill which is the number one thing for me. I hate simple games that anyone can pick up and play. I love how everyone shared gameplay secrets, even glitches. I hate glitches, but in Socom it was great that everyone shared them. Sure it was a double edged sword so to speak, but it's not like games nowadays where people find out a glitch and they don't tell anyone, not even their friends. Then they benefit from it while everyone else suffers.
Everyone was respectful. There was no insulting eachother, yelling at your teammates for losing the round or making a mistake. However, the community was still very competitive and always wanted to win, but they realized it was just a game and sometimes, things don't always go your way. Sadly, those days are gone. Now it's just "omg get raped!" or telling your teammates how much they suck (I still have no idea what this accomplishes, because it's only going to make them try less) and just full of disrespectful people.
I recently got back on Socom: Confrontation before I sold my PS3 and I remember losing a round which I should have won. It was 1v4, I killed three of them and should've killed the last guy but I choked. At the end, I said "My bad guys I should've won that" and I got back "Don't worry man it's ok you tried and almost did it"
I was shocked. After playing 360 for the past three years, I usually get a "STFU YOU SUCK, I WOULDA DID THAT WITH MY EYES CLOSED"..but that's enough. I could write a novel about Socom. Shame Sony had to throw it all in the garbage in favor of FPS to try and capitalize on the FPS craze.

You are so Lucky O_O............
FSX or most flight sims. No bratty/potty-mouthed kids although there are occasionally FSX and X-Plane 9 fanboys. The latter usually stay in the forums.

Ah yes, Socom.
I used to play Socom 2 back in the day, so many great times, and I hope Socom 4 is like that too.I doubt it. It's more of a showcase for PS Move.
Sony fails on a whole new level. I thought "Hey, our system is $600" was bad, but this is just taking it too far. I don't think they understand the whole motion control thing. Core gaming do not want, nor do they care for motion controls. At least Microsoft is copying Nintendo right. They're acknowledging that it's for the casuals. 360 owners won't have to worry about Halo or Gears or Forza being ruined because they're being developed around motion controls.
MAG just released this year. Unless Zipper was working on Socom 4 while they should've been working on MAG, I just don't see how Socom 4 is supposed to be good. This is how I see it.
A) It took them four years (maybe more) to develop MAG. Now let's pretend the entire four years, the development team was working on it to try and get out the best possible product they could. They failed. MAG is a disappointment and the only people who care for it are the diehard fanboys. There's a reason this game got a 50% price drop.
B) Zipper split their teams and have been developing Socom 4 for awhile now. This makes me think they don't care about the quality of the products. This means they never took MAG serious and were just developing it to say "Hey look! PS3 supports 256 players!" They should have just stuck with Socom, instead, it was given to Slant Six who destroyed the Socom name. Most people hear Socom and think about the atrocity known as Confrontation. It damaged the franchise.
So lets go with A. How would a development team who took four years to release MAG, it ends up mediocre, be able to make Socom 4 good when it has to be built to support both Move and standard controller?
Socom is dead. I don't need to wait months for the inevitable. That's why I sold my Playstation. I only owned it for Socom, same reason I had a PS2.

Thats my favorite series! I love Socom Confrontation and the community was awesome too ! I used to Gamebattles.com alot, i love it so much that i sold my PS3 because its the only game i would always play and i have so many games that i want to experience.
Edit: i didnt see your above post but after all the patches Confrontation was pretty good. They fixed everything in the game and listened to the community.
i found the PC TF2 community a bunch of n00b hating elitist ****'s. i felt about as welcome as a freshly laid log of dog dirt on in a fridge. never went back
TF2 easily.
It's sad, I love TF2 but i haven't given it CLOSE to the playtime it deserves what with other games coming out.
The problem with the TF2 community is that there are many kids, spoiled by the good things Valve doing, compared to other devs. And these kids always complain no matter what. I mean, getting serious'd about hats was so embarrasing.
Bad Company 2 has a TERRIBLE community. NO ONE talks and squads dont really work together the way you would imagine. Still very fun but honestly the community sucks ass. The only thing youll be seeing and not hearing is "gg" and "wow bs". Now all you BC2 fanboys come flame me.
And no one has to talk about TF2s community. We all know how great it is.
I agree with this 100%, it's all true too, plus my list:Bad Company 2 has a TERRIBLE community. NO ONE talks and squads dont really work together the way you would imagine. Lets see:
When playing Attackers in Rush, some teams don't even use squads, and to me, to win effectively you have to be in squads to spawn with living teammates and help take out the enemies. I hate how in some games people camp in one spot not even arming the crate, just camping to get kills and we lose because not enough people manage to arm crates and defend them from being disarmed by defenders. Teams who can't even get across the map because they get owned so bad, and on every map there's a vehicle for attackers to use(not much in Nelson Bay though), use it. Teams who leave vehicles like tanks and helicopters for defenders to use against you.
When playing Defenders in Rush, I like how no one goes to disarm a crate sometimes and let it blow up. Or how after the 1st set of crates they spawn camp to kill and the other team can still get across and arm both crates. Squads aren't as important most of the time, but when you need help disarming a crate and no one is around to help while the enemy waits to kill you it'll be best to be in squads to help out more to defending those disarming crates. Or just camp and do nothing, yet camping and doing something is vital to win as defenders. Or let attackers use your heavy MGs, stationary, etc.
In Conquest, you have people who would rather camp than to get flags, which you need so you don't get spawned killed in your own spawn area when they have all the flags. And not having a squad in that mode is insane, they always change the tide of war if done right as your team can get one flag and your squad can get another while spawning with them after you die.
And in general: People who run over mines without watching the road, assaults who don't give out ammo packs, engineers who don't repair vehicles and take them out, medics who don't give out med packs to heal or don't revive people and revive people in front of enemies, recons who don't throw their motion sensors to detect enemies and they get knifed easily, camping and not doing much, lack of teamwork overall, people who can't aim well even at 5 feet, no one hardly uses mics in squads, I can go on dude.
I love the multiplayer in this game, and do win a lot of matches, but same can be said for losing them as well for dumb reasons. The lack of teamwork in this team based game is odd at times and can make the game unplayable too. You can say this for any game, but still, this game is all teamwork, not being a lone wolf like in most shooters, and there are people that go alone without much help. Heck some of my friends are going to stop playing this game because of what I said too. I sure hope the community gets better too, I doubt it.
These community topics are silly. Every community has it's fair share of d-bags. Honestly both communities are fine. The game is active, and for the most part it just requires teaming up with the right people. TF2 though is more consistant I guess. I tend to get into more teams that play as you know A TEAM!jg4xchamp
Because TF2 game mechanics REQUIRE you to play as a team unless you play against hopeless noobs.

Then I guess those people intentionally grenading me in a co-op match co-op I say are figments of my imagination. LOL.

Technically speaking Bad Company 2 is the same way. You're not going to WIN(key word here) without playing as a team. But people forgot that competition is about winning/losing. Not k/d spreads. SO they don't try. TF2 though yes takes the concept of making a game completely team focused and doesn't deviate from it at all in it's design. To the point where you have no chance in hell of going lone wolf and performing at a high level.TF2, BC2 is played on consoles, so there are a LOT of mouthy kids.Zoso-8
the great thing is when your in a squad you cant hear those kids cause you can only hear your squad.Which is great. But i still say TF2 or CSS for that matter.heck i might raise a BF1942 or 2 aswell xD.
