sure, you could beat each game in around sixty minutes, but i sure as hell did it 50+ times in both games
i'm going to give the number 2 spot to yoshi's island though, beaten that 10ish times with an honorable mention to SSBM, which i have literally unlocked every character/stage in at least 4 or 5 times
i usually dont beat most games more then 1 or 2 times though
The Tekken series. Unlocking the chars means beating the game a lot.for me it was megaman 2 i beat it 14 times

Super Metroid. It has been well over 50 times now... at least. I spent weeks speed running the game a few years ago, where I would beat the game 2 or 3 times a day for many days on end just to practice the run.
Super Mario on GB at least 20 times each timt trying to up the final number of lives I have to beat my brother. Pokemon Red at least 10 times and yes that did take a while. I sunk a solid 100 hours into most of those games too
Its most likely MGS2. I've played others in the series but for some reasons its the only one i've completed so many times that i lost count.
I've played over 10 times:
Super Mario RPG
Legend of Zelda
Secret of Evermore
Castlevania SotN
Earthbound
Suikoden 1 and 2
Silent Hill 1 and 3
FFX 4 times only
I beat mgs3 like 20 times :P SAGE_OF_FIREWow, if you don't skip any cutscenes that's around 50+ hours of bad dialouge right there (IMHO) :P.

Quite a funy story behind my birth a long time before it was relesed. In 1986 my mum walkt in an said to my Dad "im in labor Andrew/Andy/my Dad" He said "thats nice darling make us a cup of tea" so my mum Julie did. She got the cut of tea got it to my dad an said again "Andrew/Andy/my Dad im about to have my baby.
At witch point my Dad herd it about fainted got up almost knock him self out on the way down stairs an went to hospital.
They get to the hospital its about time an the nures turn round to get some thing saying its about time Julie start pushing, the nurse truns round an ive gone off the edge of the bed an about half way to the ground an the nurse catches me in mid air an goes it a eager boy.
Any a way few years later im playing this game seting theforth highest score that ships with the game thats hard to beat it an id love to know any1 that beat it.

Well the most recent is MGS4, played and beaten the game 18 times.Swift_Boss_AThis. And MGS3 20 times.
My NES wouldn't save data. It was so cruel. For a short game: Streets of Rage 2 I've beat tonnes of times. For a long game: FF7 probably 5 times. Eventually it'll probably be surpassed by FF Tactics, which has aged better.the original final fantasy 1 on the nes. ive prolly beaten that over 20 times
