Which game will put the survival horror back in the survival horror?

Pick one.

I think Zombi U just could bring back the horror in the survival horror and have a few unique new touches.

TLoU looks nice but seems more like a glorified Uncharted with zombies to me.

And War Z is a pretty shameless Day Z rip-off (might be fun tho).

DayZ is an amazing concept and the standalone version seems to be solving most of the issues the mod had,but tbh,the big,actual horror game to release next year comes from the masters of the genre,Frictional Games,and that´s Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs.

ya know i thought deadspace had this sorted but it seems like survival horror is a forgotton genre.. i guess i would have to pick the last of us out of that list.

The upcoming Amnesia game will of course be fantastic...nothing beats those games atmosphere wise in the SH genre, nothing

Zombi U though looks amazing as well IMO...it looks like it actually has some nice tension in the gameplay and you always have to watch your back at all times because it's one bite and your dead...it actually makes the simpliest generic zombie a real threat again

Why do people insist on forgetting about Siren? Or...take your pick from a number of titles on pc, point is, they're there.

DayZ is not survival horror, it's just survival.

Amnesia already did that, but if we are only talking about the games in your list then only two of those listed is actually built around survival DayZ and its cash in attempt WarZ.

Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs has serious potential to be the scariest game in existance.

It isn't a poll option, yet almost everyone in this thread named this game :P

If you followed, they are trying to incorporate the same expierence in the first 2 for co-op.

My bet is The Last Of Us. If anyone has played that one chapter in Uncharted 1, it was kind of creepy, I've always wondered what kind of game Naughty Dog could pull off in the survival horror genre.

pretty obivous it's gonna be Zombie U. people may not like nintendo, but you alot of the "hardcore gamers" are getting a Wii U for this game alone.

the idea behind this game is awesome, one hit will kill you, real time survival, once you're dead, you're character is turned into a zombie. what! awesome!

Yea that part where you have to get the generators working I think. I did not expect that chapter with those zombies to be so creepy.

ZombiU looks very interesting, hopefully it does the survival horror well.

Amnesia 2 will probably be the game that scares the **** out of people the most.
