Nintendo will probably bring Fatal Frame games to the Wii U, using the tablet like a camera. Someone mentioned Siren Blood Curse, that was a great game, I wish Sony would keep making games for the series, never got a chance to try the 2nd game on the PS2 because they only released it in Japan and Europe. Dead Space series does a good job. Like it or not RE is still a decent series. The Alan Wake series has some good potential. The Metro (2033/Last Light) series has potential as well. There's Dead Rising 3 to look forward to. Games have horror themed add-ons like Read Dead Redemption's Undead Nightmare or Black Ops zombie mode. A lot of people are close minded about what constitutes "survival" as well as "horror". Horror in video games I pretty much place in the same way as film, you have your superficial campy B-movie style horror films that aren't scary but are still fun, and you have your movies that are so scary or suspenseful it's a friggin work of art... IMO games can be the same way to. People complain about survival horror games being more action focused, I think people confuse the evolution of gameplay mechanics for action focused games, it's only natural that when you end up having to go toe-to-toe with a threat in a game that developers have to make things harder for you, and that shouldn't be through archaic controls and gameplay mechanics designed for the 90s. Anyhow, people are just snobs when it comes to survival horror, I try enjoying the diversity of the genre. And I can't wait for recreational marijuana to be legalized so in that hypothetical future I can hypothetically proclaim that it would make those survival horror games just that much more interesting, scary, immersible, and can even make a so-so game that much greater. Some people have to take some personal responsibility when they play these games. Also including turning lights off, playing at night with the surround sound cranked or with headphones, not chatting with friends on XBL while playing or watching TV or listening to music while you play, and avoid playing in the presence of distracting company.
well... there hasnt been any horror footage yet for the last of us...but the mechanics are great for the human enemies.. i can imagine with the mutant zombies that it would be very intense
Anyone who voted for zombie uncharted has no buisness playing games in the first place. Nothing is scary about that game, and very little is survival...
DayZ is an amazing concept and the standalone version seems to be solving most of the issues the mod had,but tbh,the big,actual horror game to release next year comes from the masters of the genre,Frictional Games,and that´s Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs.

Might be nothing new but it revived the horror genre when it released big time. So many little indie games came out then trying to scare people since that game launched and it's sequel is sure to put a stamp on the genre again next year.
None of the games in the poll choice are anything new either except maybe DayZ and that's not survival horror, it's just survival
