Which game's graphics wowed you more, Crysis or Metroid Prime 1?

wow, i've never seen a perfectly reasonable thread wrecked so quickly by the needlessly argumentative tendancies of most of the system wars visitors. in asking which game, at the time of release, wowed you more the tc has created a completely fair but ultimately opinionated discussion topic. there's no suggestion that the graphics of the 2 games are being compared like for like or the graphics of crysis are being rubbished and it's a real shame that some users of this board can't distinguish between genuine game discussion and the childish platform bashing antics of trolls.

Crysis wowed me more. When I played MP, I had already played games like GT3, Halo, and Ninja Gaiden.

Well Ninja Gaiden came out after MP, but there's still no way MP would have wowed me as much as Crysis.

Huh... I thought Resident Evil remake / Resident Evil Zero looked a lot better then MP1 and both were released in 2002...

at the time, i had never seen a game like metroid prime with beautiful open worlds.

Crysis looks like any number of shooters released over the last 6 years except, better.

Im going with metroid prime.

Well, I didn't actually play Metroid until a few years after its release so of course by then I wasn't wowed by it. Crysis looks incredible (duh) and looks set to be better looking than any future console game (as far as technical graphics go).

The game that wowed me most as regards graphics was Metal Gear Solid 2. When I saw the first trailers I was taken aback and simply couldn't have imagined a better looking game at that time. Gears of War comes fairly close though.

1. The game didnt even look that spectacular in 2001.

2. Thats the PC version... Which looked alot better than the Xbox original.
