Which do you think? I tried picking good screens for both, so don kill me if you think the comparison is unfair:)

In all honesty, I really love the character models in Mass Effect. they look stunning, and the lighting and shadows on their faces work so well together. Their faces almost look real O_o.
u realize lemmings will say mass effect and cows will say mgs 4 porzdeadline
true but Mass Effect has awesome looking aliens and ****

Mass Effect:
Okay, even though I'm positive that MGS4 will kicks Mass Effect's ass when it hits stores, those Mass Effect faces look mighty purty. However, in motion Mass Effect is way too choppy and laggy for me. MGS4 overall looks better. If we're talking about stills, Mass Effect wins, but in motion, it's MGS4 all the way.
I gotta love that first Mass Effect screen. The dude's eyes look real, and it's hard to tell whether thats a real person or not.
MGS4 looks freakin' amazing, and really shows the sags on Liquid Ocelot's and Solid Snake's faces gruesomely well. I love both, but overall I think MGS4 steals the show in graphics. Mass Effect is only good for stills, IMO.
Both games have excellent character models.
However, it seems that the character models in Mass Effect have a higher poly count as well as better textures.
Snake's character model is superb though. At this point, it's kinda hard for me to decide. I would have to get a sample model from each game and run it though 3D Studio Max.
For the last time, MGS's cut-scenes (except for a few, and by a few I mean two or three out of the hundreds) are rendered completely in-game. This has been true for every MGS game.i like how the mgs4 screens are cg movies, and the me screens are game.

While ME is more technically impressive, MGS4 is the better looking game, as far as character models go. While the skin textures in ME are truly amazing, they're not very realistic as you wouldn't be able to see that level of detail on someone's skin unless it had the texture of coarse sandpaper (or you were inches away from them). Still impressive though. ME also seems to follow the habit of being too shiny. At the same time you can dock MGS4's character skins of being too "perfect." ... So, I'll go with "equal."
