I'd also like to address a question: How much faster can you write on HD-DVD/Blu-ray compared to DVD?
Space is a benefit, but if the writing speed doesn't match the growth in space, it'll be a pain in the arse to use all that.

so far the only blu-ray burner i've seen burns at 2x. (that's 72 Mb/s according to the blu-ray spec) so a full disc at 25 GB will take ~48 minutes to burn. Not too shabby... my first CD burner took about that long. Give it 2 years and it will probably be brought down 10 minutes

I have both

however I have 3 HDDVD players and only 1 BD player(PS3)
