Which in Your Opinion is Better? Xbox or Nintendo?

I argue with this guy every day about which one is better. Please post your thoughts.

My opinion is Sony > Nintendo > Microsoft

1. the xbox is a console, nintendo is a company.

2. The xbox brand dosen't belong in the same sentence as a nintendo or sony platform.

IMO Nintendo >= Sony >>>>>> Microsoft

I might Like Microsoft better if they focused on creating First Party Exclusives that interest me. If they don't have the Exclusives that I can't get on any other system why bother purchasing their system.

Also between Nintendo and Sony it is suppose to be read as Greater than or Equal.

company wise:

Nintendo >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Sony = MS

Console wise:

Xbox360 >>> PS3 >>> Wii

i think you'd be crazy to take a wii over an xbox 360but thats my opinion

but nintendo has been making games alot longer then MS so thats a not really fair with all the clasics since NES

Well... if you mean Xbox 360 and Wii... both have their strengths and weaknesses and I like what they have to offer. But if you mean Microsoft and Nintendo, then... I would say Nintendo is the better company overall.

Between those two only? Nintendo as a gaming company > Microsoft as a gaming company. But Xbox 360 > Wii.

Hard question ... it really shouldnt be.

Nintendo is far better at gaming. Surely that's a fact.

However I dislike the VAST majority of the games thye make. I dislike the direction they've taken with the Wii, and i dislike there family focus on games in general.

MS on the other hand just plain suck. Crap hardware with the Xbox, and for a software company they've done sweet F-A with regards to quality titles. I like how they encourage PC ports though.

So what your saying is MS first 2 consoles are doing as good as Sonys first 2 or nintendos first 2 consoles, i dont have the figures and im too lazy to look but i highly doubt the xbox and xbox 360 is doing better than the ps1 and ps2 or the nes and snes.

Sony entered the market and dominated its first 2 gens and pretty much killed SEGA. MS has finished 2nd both times, i wouldnt say laughable but they're definitely not in the same league as Sony and Nintendo....yet.

Nintendo has the top 3 selling handhelds of all time, as well as the third fourth and fifth best selling home consoles. Sony has the top 2 selling home consoles of all time, as well as the fourth best selling handheld of all time. MS's home consoles are 6th and 11th best selling of all time.

So when you say "considering how good xbox has done in way less time", what exactly are you going by, the fact that 360 has managed to sell around 3 million more units than ps3, with an extra year at market?

The N64's was the first controller that tore theheck out of my thumb. I remember the carpal tunnel thing got big with Mario Party back in the 90s, but I can't find anything on it now. Had aink to a '98 Wired Magazine article on RSI, but GS wouldn't let me post it for some reason. I love Nintendo games, don't get me wrong. But they've had their share of oopses.

The obvious truth here is that Nintendo is better than the xbox, as the xbox has not been around for long while Nintendo saved the gaming industry and has franchises that are probably older than you.

Now if you mean xbox 360 to Wii... that is debateable. I'll go with the Wii.

I would have loved to play the N64 games with the GC controller. Man, I hated the N64 controller. But I loved the system/games.

If you have a wii, gc controller and the n64 games on the virtual console, you can :shock: what are you waiting for :P jk

Considering history, and the pedigrees involved. This would be like asking "what is the difference between a world-cIass race horse and Mr. Ed?" Well... about everything. The Nintendo platform throughout the years has been nothing short of spectacular. Its unfortunate for the past three generations, they haven't been able to offer much other than their fantastic first party offerings.

Microsoft is still very much a "wannabe." Even Sony still hasn't made much hedge way from its "rookie" state.

Nintendo is a better company, but I like the Xbox better than the Wii. Both are good consoles though.

I rate 360 quite far above Wii. To compare MS to Nintendo in terms of franchises, IP's and pedigrees is a joke; third parties are what make the 360 a great platform. Microsoft themselves are quite frankly underwhelming as a games company aside from their influence in the online field.

the 360 offers more then the wii since thats what their target audience is so i would say the 360 is better then the wii on this forum. mainly this forum is for the hardcore

meh... the online is average but it's still free. Friend codes are absolute garbage though. I will never pay for an online service. Some wii games have great online like monster hunter tri for example.
