I'll always love Tomb Raider Legends, Anniversary,Underworld,Uncharted 1 and 2. Tomb Raider (2013), Uncharted 3 were abominations. Yet to play Rise of the Tomb Raider.

So Short Answer, Tomb Raider Trilogy > Uncharted Trilogy.

Uncharted 1 and 2 > Tomb Raider (2013)

Well? :)

You're at it again, I see. :P

Lems will say 'Tomb Raider' and cows will say 'Uncharted' and the two factions will start slinging poo at each other like always. Oh, and hermits will side with lemmings like usual and since they don't get Uncharted. *gets popcorn*

Kinda same for me, love the earlier tomb raiders, bought the latest yesterday but had no time to play yet.

Loved UC 2.

So far Tomb Raider has the lead.

Well I grew up enjoying the old PS Tomb Raiders, but truth be told, they control like crap. Loved Uncharted 2. Only played a small amount of the first new Tomb Raider. Don't really have a preference.

Tomb Raider. It handles the adventure aspect a lot better than Uncharted ever does, which is a game that restricts and penalizes you for trying to explore any other part of the map that's not part of the ordained path. Those games live and die by their pacing, and when that pacing isn't on point, the cracks quickly show.

In other words, I hate that an adventure game doesn't allow me to be adventerous. I don't know if they fixed that up in UC3, but I somehow doubt it.

I say star citizen, because of exploration, space combat, ground combat and more.

It will easily crush both unfarted 4 and rise of the tombstone

Well in one "adventure" game you have to push the right analog stick in to make the treasure glow, while in the other "adventure" game it's glowing automatically.

Take your pick

If you take the original Tomb Raider series from the 90s into consideration then it's not even a contest.

Uncharted is an awesome adventure game series but it was never known for depth so it's more on the casual side like Gears of War. Tomb Raider used to have its own identity before and set the pavement for 3D adventure games in the PS1 era. She was original in her own merit, focusing on heavy exploration, platforming and the feeling of isolation.

The new Tomb Raider lost sight of its own identity and focuses more on trying to compete with Uncharted. It's more combat heavy, Lara lost her gymnastic skills, but tries to add depth with a level up system. It's better on combat now but tomb raiding is more dull than ever before and it feels like Crystal Dynamics lost their mojo.

The new Tomb Raider has a weaker combat system than Uncharted. It's harder than Uncharted for the wrong reasons. Lara doesn't have a true duck and cover system that you can command at will like Drake does and you really feel it when you get cornered constantly. She only hugs the wall when she feels like it and it takes a toll when you want to pop out of cover. There's no blind fire either like Uncharted, you HAVE to aim.

Uncharted has everything the new Tomb Raider lacks in combat. Drake can even shoot while hanging on ledges. But Naughty Dog doesn't bother adding more depth like Tomb Raider does so it's usually a straight line. Though the action set pieces still mop up the floor with this new Tomb Raider. It's very hard to be impressed by anything she does because Nate has done it already. Uncharted also feels more refined and polished to boot and not at all glitchy either.

So for what this new Tomb Raider wants to be, Uncharted does it much better. RPG elements in Tomb Raider is good but it breaks the pacing of the story and feels very out of place. I still prefer old Tomb Raider over Uncharted though but I've played both the new Tomb Raider games and Uncharted long enough to make this comparison.

Favorite Tomb Raider game is still Tomb Raider 2.

Favorite Uncharted game is Uncharted 2.

I have to be honest with u Indy I haven't played any of the Uncharted games before but I am looking forward to playing Uncharted 4, I've played the 2013 reboot and I'm in the middle of playing Rise of the Tomb Raider and I like these type of games.

I'm sure I will also like Uncharted 4.

OG Tomb Raider and Anniversary

Otherwise none of them, the original games were more in line with adventure games, the recent games are third person shooters, and Uncharted is absolutely a third person shooter. Frankly Tomb Raider got a tad bit better as a game (albeit it did get dumber), and Uncharted is whatever. If I want puzzles or an actual good adventure game there were wildly superior options in Tomb Raider's heyday, and especially today.

Old Tombs.

What Uncharted has over the new Tombs is variety and color.

I've always liked Tomb Raider better, I own all of them and I own all of the Uncharted games as well. Some games you connect with and others you don't, that's just really the way things go. Uncharted seems too much like it's trying too hard to be serious and then comical at the same time, and it's way too on rails for my liking.

The new Tomb Raider games have a lot in common with Uncharted but I still find them to be better and more interesting games.

Just taking into account the recent Tomb Raider stuff, my list of favorites is:

  1. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
  2. Rise of the Tomb Raider
  3. Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception
  4. Tomb Raider
  5. Uncharted: Drake's Fortune

I love all of these games. The sense of adventure, the gunplay, everything combined really hits the mark. Rise of the Tomb Raider was just superb; I was actually surprised by how good it was. I'd argue it's a better game than Uncharted 2, but Uncharted 2 overall still holds the top spot in this list for me because of it just feels like a tighter experience and hits a lot of notes better than Rise of the Tomb Raider did.

But you don't get to do any adventuring in Uncharted... It's entirely about murdering commandos and monsters.

I didn't see anything wrong with UC3 aside from the reassigned controller buttons. By the time I played the game, there was a patch that fixed the issue. I preferred UC3 to UC2 by a small margin. I (still) also have Tomb Raider: Legend and Anniversary which were okay.

I'd say they're all okay.....

UC3

UC2

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light

TR: Legend

TR: Anniversary

I really liked that last level in UC3.

In a strange situation where the console version both looked better and had better framerates......

The original Tomb Raider (early 1996) was my primary reason for buying a PS1 because it looked much better and was much smoother than the original PC VGA/SVGA versions (non-3D accelerated). The VGA version was very pixelated while the SVGA version was so laggy, it was unplayable.

Are we talking reboot TR or all time? Because UC has no chance at all to go against the TR legacy. When comparing the rebootet TR with UC they are pretty much the same for me, but since UC has more different areas to explore and more interessting characters, I'd probably go with Uc. Even though the last 2 games were a disappointment (3 was okay, GA just bad).

My gripe against UC 3 and TR was:

1. On UC 3 they removed all bonus content as they rushed the game for release ( Costumes,Bonus features & Other unlockables ). Tons of fans were really mad about this lol.

2. On TR they removed any replaybility , not NG + nor Chapter Replay as after finishing game i had nothing to go back to. But start all over again from scratch, gather everything from scratch. Thankfully i'm hearing on Rise of the Tomb Raider we can replay chapters lol.

No arguments about UC3 being somewhat rushed to get it launched as quickly as possible, and there's a lot more wrong with it than just unlockables too, but in the end, all I'm saying is that calling it an "abomination" is a tad harsh. Uncharted 3 had several flaws, yes (I personally thought they could easily be overlooked, but I can see why most people don't agree), but it was still enjoyable enough. Especially for fans of Uncharted 2's set piece moments, since UC3 was essentially more of UC2, but shinier and with more explosions.

As for Tomb Raider, replayability is important in a game, sure, but when the very first playthrough makes the kind of impact TR2013's campaign did, you cannot fault it for not having extra content. The campaign lasted well over ten hours, and it was an excellent ride start to finish. Mechanically, it was a very well made game.

Yeah, calling them abomination was Harsh lol. UC 3 and TR were very enjoyable games, i only wished they added atleast costumes, extra bonus weapons , removing ammo limit for Drake ( which was very popular in UC 1 and 2 as you know ) and atleast Chapter Replay in TR lol.

BTW you getting Rise of the Tomb Raider my freind? i might later on :)

Various Costumes/Skins for Drake, Special weapons as Eddies Golden Gun , Infinite Ammo for all weapons , One Hit Kill, Slow Mo, Fast Motion, Mirror world. Replaying Uncharted 1 and 2 with these options was a blast lol.

Tomb Raider (2013), Uncharted 3 were abominations. Yet to play Rise of the Tomb Raider.

That's a little harsh.

Very harsh, actually. TR2013 was an excellent game, and while I can understand why some people have issues with UC3, it's still an enjoyable enough game.

Yep, I'll get it for the PS4 sooner or later. I liked TR2013 and I've been impressed by what I've seen of Rise, so yeah, definitely interested.

Uncharted 1 and 2 and TR 2013 and RoTR over everything else.

If I could only pick one series then Uncharted just because UC2 is just about a perfect game. Boy did ND screw up with UC3 in comparison.

Original Tomb Raider - where you actually explore and adventure, instead of mow down hordes and vaguely shove the analog in some direction to execute "platforming"

I find the new TR games play way better than the UC series, the controls just feel better and more responsive (comparing PC versions of TR) so I enjoy them more.

the UC games, at least compared to TR2013 (only a few hours into ROTR) feel like better 'adventures' though, the stories are better presented and you go between locations in a more believable way.

Overall I'll still take the new TR games over the UC series though, I just find the actual game parts of the UC games to be lacking

You're at it again, I see. :P

Lems will say 'Tomb Raider' and cows will say 'Uncharted' and the two factions will start slinging poo at each other like always. Oh, and hermits will side with lemmings like usual and since they don't get Uncharted. *gets popcorn*

Lol, sounds about right.

Anyway, tough to answer for me... TR & ROTR are 2 of my favourite games, but Uncharted 2 is as well.
