Uncharted is an awesome adventure game series but it was never known for depth so it's more on the casual side like Gears of War. Tomb Raider used to have its own identity before and set the pavement for 3D adventure games in the PS1 era. She was original in her own merit, focusing on heavy exploration, platforming and the feeling of isolation.
The new Tomb Raider lost sight of its own identity and focuses more on trying to compete with Uncharted. It's more combat heavy, Lara lost her gymnastic skills, but tries to add depth with a level up system. It's better on combat now but tomb raiding is more dull than ever before and it feels like Crystal Dynamics lost their mojo.
The new Tomb Raider has a weaker combat system than Uncharted. It's harder than Uncharted for the wrong reasons. Lara doesn't have a true duck and cover system that you can command at will like Drake does and you really feel it when you get cornered constantly. She only hugs the wall when she feels like it and it takes a toll when you want to pop out of cover. There's no blind fire either like Uncharted, you HAVE to aim.
Uncharted has everything the new Tomb Raider lacks in combat. Drake can even shoot while hanging on ledges. But Naughty Dog doesn't bother adding more depth like Tomb Raider does so it's usually a straight line. Though the action set pieces still mop up the floor with this new Tomb Raider. It's very hard to be impressed by anything she does because Nate has done it already. Uncharted also feels more refined and polished to boot and not at all glitchy either.
So for what this new Tomb Raider wants to be, Uncharted does it much better. RPG elements in Tomb Raider is good but it breaks the pacing of the story and feels very out of place. I still prefer old Tomb Raider over Uncharted though but I've played both the new Tomb Raider games and Uncharted long enough to make this comparison.
Favorite Tomb Raider game is still Tomb Raider 2.
Favorite Uncharted game is Uncharted 2.
