I say Mario Kart. Its actually way more fun to play. Maybe its me and my tastes.

Mario Kart is the best arcade racer of its kind.
Gran Turismo isn't the best sim racer of its kind.
So therefore Mario Kart wins.
Both flop, Wipeout owns both. You get everything under one roof. Great graphics, good sound track, high speed, deep control, fun, and power ups.
Gran Turismo for me. Sure I like Mario Kart, but only if I have people to play with. It is boring playing solo. GT on the other hand is fun both as single and multiplayer. Plus I just like realistic more than fantasy when it comes to racing games (and pretty much any other genre for that matter).
I prefer Mario Kart by a fair margin, but it has been on a consistent downhill slide since the N64, whereas GT has remained good up until 3. For 4, well, who knows... Not like there is more than a demo out for it. It is no longer king of the racers any more, but that by no-means makes it a bad game.Shafftehr
wat?
Gt4 came out years ago, you mean gt5?
I got bored of Gran Turismo 4 in no time. With Mario Kart on the other hand, I have never gotten bored, be it with friends or when playing by myself. What I did get, however, was a load of fun.

Saying GT isn't the king of racing games is like saying Street Fighter isn't the king of fighting games.

But it isn't the king of racing games and you will have many people tell you that Street fighter isn't the king of fighting games.[QUOTE="Shafftehr"]I prefer Mario Kart by a fair margin, but it has been on a consistent downhill slide since the N64, whereas GT has remained good up until 3. I don't know what point you're trying to make with your little Street Fighter comparison, because saying that SF isn't the king of fighting games any more is *completely* true... And this coming from a fan of the series who has been playing since the early 90's, and who is actually playing SFIV online between posts here.[QUOTE="Shafftehr"]I prefer Mario Kart by a fair margin, but it has been on a consistent downhill slide since the N64, whereas GT has remained good up until 3.
