BEFORE YOU VOTE READ THIS.

Before you vote i just want to give you some facts on each console.

Playstaion 3 obviously the past console fighter king. is still regarded as maybe being the best, but with almost every fighter being on the 360 and sometimes being better like VF5, there really is not much difference. The only difference is Tekken and Dead or Alive so i guess its which game you like better.

also don't determin this by the d pad, yes i know the 360 dpad is not that great, real fighter players use arcade sticks, and imo the 360 analog stick is better then both ps3 dpad and 360 dpad, but thats imo.

Also last but not least the wii. Which really only has Super smash bros brawl. but yet again its Super smash bros brawl. one of the most popular, and imo one of the best fighters out there.

So there you go, i hope you think before voting, and make sure to state your opinion at the bottom.

Happy VOTING!

Neo Geo, Dreamcast and PS2

The real poll should have been between these 3 systems.

The Wii has Brawl which is one of the best fighters of all time IMO but the 360 and PS3 just have more.

i would choose ssbb course it is the only one out of the series thats constantly gets better

soul calibur 2 was better then 3

TTT was better then tekken 4

i dont like doa dont know why

and sf4 looks more like ssft at the moment

But overall I think PS3 is Probably best for fighters because it has good controls for it.

the wii lacks horribly in fighters just as much as the 360 in platformers, sure it has smash but its only 1 game, same with banjo, again only 1 game. and one that isen't a guerintee to be good like brawl.

so with the wii out of the picture i say its a toss up between 360 and ps3, it comes down to taste in the end

360 is currently at the top with DOA4 and VF5 Online.

The PS3 will be on top later as the 360 and it will most likely share every fighting release but the PS3 will be getting BlazeBlue and Tekken 6 exclusive while the 360 will not.

I already have my Hori EX2 for 360 and I'm well on my way to finishing my dual stick custom job so where ever they land I'll be on them.

Why do casuals arrogantly say Smash is the best fighter. You're casuals...you only played Smash...You think Tekken and SF are too hard so you stick with a game that's easy for you... Anyways, I would have to go with the Arcade.

PS3. By far. If your a fighting game fanatic such as myself, there really is no substitution. The d-pad makes all the difference. Learning to play on an arcade stick means going to an arcade. Buying one is almost irrelevant if you don't plan on going to the arcade to use the skills. As for actual fighting games, Tekken 5 DR:Online has a hugely robust online mode and is the first to do so. Little to no lag helps too. Also the PS3 has the best overall upcoming fighting game library as well.

TC : The Analog stick may be better on 360 TO YOU, but not for games like VF5 dude.

Dpad is a HUGE factor, especially when you compare the arcade sticks that are out. I have the HORI stick for VF, and it's just no where near the quality of sticks I could buy for my PS2 yesteryear.

Anyways, There really isn't a great console YET, but with the PS3's dominance over the 360 in Japan, I would lean towards the PS3 getting the lionshare of Fighters, especially knowing TEKKEN 6 is coming. Heck, Tekken 5 HD ONLINE is a blast, and although isn't big here in SW, it's more fun than my copy of DOA4.

The Wii just doesnt' have the goods to keep up with the other two, but it will have SSBB for YEARS. Like how SSBM was played on GC for years.

Because this is the biggest problem that plagues the Fighting genre. People aren't willing to branch off into other games. They stick to their game and thats it. SRK makes me sick sometimes. So much Capcom love there. I can't believe that there is not one not one SNK game at EVO.

Fighting fans imo shoulder a lot of the blame when it comes to the genres niche status. They refuse to branch out and they stick with what's familar.

I can't stand people who play fighting games and don't recognize Smash and I REALLY CAN'T STAND people who play Smash but then refuse to play other fighting games.

It is very irritating, I'll go on to say its probably the only thing I can associate with actually HATE when it comes to the industry.

How dare you call yourself a fighting game fanatic :|

D-Pads don't matter in Fighting games for a fanatic....You want to know why? Because we use these things called A-R-C-A-D-E S-T-I-C-K-S and while I understand its not everyones preference to use one and that one who loves the genre may even prefer to use a Controller over an Arcade stick I think I speak for the vast majority when I say that anyone is says "Buying one is almost irrelevant" needs to be hit by a blunt object in back of the head :P

How does learning to play on a stick mean nothing? You know you could um bring your stick with you...???

I always imagined that with this gen and the whole HDD thing that you will just download the updates and newer versions (for a price) much like Oblivions Expansion on the 360. I'm not gonna stand for a World Warrior, Championship Edition, Turbo, Super, Super Turbo, Hyper Fighting Debacle. Hopefully the updates just come via downloads.

Regardless of which neither system can play this game and my point still stand which is at present time 360 is the better fighter console over PS3 and Wii.

10 million sold and you think most of them are hardcore Smash players? Use some logic. Calling me a fanboy...You better recognize... Why do you think Smash still has all those cookie cutter sidequest games? Smash is very competitive (in the U.S.), but don't get it twisted. It's a fighter for casuals.

Think of it as Virtua Fighter 5: Evolution except the R stands for Remix. Afterwards there will be Virtua Fighter 5: Final Tuned.

I used to have the limited DOA4 stick but took that back due to the rolling ball on top, and now I have the Hori EX2 VF5 lmtd.

I just am not satisfied with the horrible button layout, nor the rolling ball's return on top of the stick. These balls are great for Pac man, but annoy the crap out of me for fighters, as you don't find them on actual machines like that (Of which I spent Hundreds of thousands of hours). Don't get me wrong, Hori makes great sticks, but they aren't styled properly for me.

For the PS2 (and Original Xbox as well), I've owned the official Street Fighter 15th Anniversary Edition Arcade stick, 2 Namco Tekken sticks (Are they PSOne sticks? About the same quality of the Hori sticks, minus the rolling ball), and a sweet Xblade stick.

Hopefully someone soon will recognize these quirks in the sticks we have to today.

Im not gonna argue with that since it has SF2:HF. I'll probably give it to the 360 since VF5 is online, otherwise, if the PS3 version had online, I would call it a tie since you can choose to like tekkenDR or doa.

[QUOTE="Cute_Red_Panda"]Why do casuals arrogantly say Smash is the best fighter. You're casuals...you only played Smash...You think Tekken and SF are too hard so you stick with a game that's easy for you... Anyways, I would have to go with the Arcade. Guybrush_3

Fighting is my favorite genre and SSBM is tied for my favorite fighting game (with SFIII:TS)

That's cool. I have no problem if it's your favorite. I don't hate smash (love the game). I just don't like when people think it's the undisputed champion.

its not a how much money did you have poll :) and dont forget 1 good fighter is better then 5 poor fighters !!

i would choose ssbb course it is the only one out of the series thats constantly gets better

soul calibur 2 was better then 3

TTT was better then tekken 4

i dont like doa dont know why

and sf4 looks more like ssft at the moment fishfake

? Money has nothing to do with it. Neo Geo was like fighter heaven thanks to SNK. Dreamcast has so many arcade ports on it and some original ones on it too including definitive versions of some games and nearly all of them are high quality ones.. PS2 just has a lot of fighting games on it that are good and great imports on it like Melty Blood Act Cadenza.

yes you act exactly like a fanboy :) fighting games are not like adventure games were you beat the last boss an then you finished it ! in every fighter you try too master it , there is no other goal and that my friend is not the way casuals play games !!

but casuals maybe more interested in brawl BUT thats course they build stuff in it that appeal too them ! its like soul calubur and the AMAZING Graphics with starwars chars in it

Cute_Red_Panda

10 million sold and you think most of them are hardcore Smash players? Use some logic. Calling me a fanboy...You better recognize... Why do you think Smash still has all those cookie cutter sidequest games? Smash is very competitive (in the U.S.), but don't get it twisted. It's a fighter for casuals.

better research next time ! how shout i use logic if you are not able too understand ??

smash sold not 10 million coppys btw

if company's try too attract more people with your called cooky's does not make a game casual ! or why do you think they change the boob sise of each soul calibur or why are there so many half naked girls in doa ?

if a game sold many coppys then its a casual game right? than go too the halo forum open a threat with the title "halo is for casoals" lol

Out of those it definately looks to be the PS3 no questions asked.

Neo Geo, Dreamcast and PS2

The real poll should have been between these 3 systems.

kage_53

Add Saturn to that list too.

Halo is for casuals too... Any game with mass appeal is automatic a casual game.

SupraGT

VF5 has quickly became obsolete

http://www.famitsu.com/game/news/1213618_1124.html

I always imagined that with this gen and the whole HDD thing that you will just download the updates and newer versions (for a price) much like Oblivions Expansion on the 360. I'm not gonna stand for a World Warrior, Championship Edition, Turbo, Super, Super Turbo, Hyper Fighting Debacle. Hopefully the updates just come via downloads.

Regardless of which neither system can play this game and my point still stand which is at present time 360 is the better fighter console over PS3 and Wii.

Im not gonna argue with that since it has SF2:HF. I'll probably give it to the 360 since VF5 is online, otherwise, if the PS3 version had online, I would call it a tie since you can choose to like tekkenDR or doa.

HF s ucks. Its a laggy mess and its gameplay is very outdated.

For smash button mashing does not work. It works for fighters. But one must take into account that some ppl dont think smash is a fighting game. Smash is not for casuals i can tell you that much. Well at least melee wasn't for casuals. Who knows for brawl.

Also, i think im gonna expand my gaming type list ...i think im gonna get into fighters. Can any1 recommend me some good fighters for ps3 besides soul calibur 4.

i know neo geo is a fighters heaven BUT that console was expensive as hell and those games also and that's why money counts. if you have the money then ok but it was extreme overpriced for me

SolidTy

I have seen you post on other of my Fighting messages. Since we are both HUGE FIGHTING GAME FANS. i propose a competition, a gentlemens competition. I play you in VF5 using my analog stick, and you use ure arcade stick. We will see who wins!!!!!

Soud good?

that mean "with you logic" that tekken is fighting game for core until it sells so good that it transform into a casual game that is not for the core right ? :)

Which Hori Stick do you have? The Hori EX2 for the 360? And what stick did you have for PS2?

Are you talking about the ball top being bad?

And saying that you don't find them in Arcades instead you find these?

He is right that button mashing doesn't work in it.
