Which looks better Resistance 2 or Gears Of War 2 ?

Dude chillout, I don't watch that show, and that gameplay was a while back I want to see what it looks like know thats how excited I am for thhis game and yes I am right.

I can't take stupidty I seen the gameplay video about 3 weeks ago on game trailers all of them I can just watch the show on a computer. Do you judge a game visuals on a small computer screen or 7 months later when the Devlopers have finshed the game and you can play it. Or they release a demo this is Why am waiting to at least E3 so I can watch more official videos on my tv.

Well let's see, when someone asks me 7 months ahead of a game's release how it stacks up in relation to another game (visually), I usually judge based on whatever visual assets have been released for the game up until that point.

Weapons: R2 (Gears weapons are cool and all but R2's weapons are too creative and fun)

imo Gears looks to re-hashy judging from what I've seen (if they come out with an awesome new feature then my interest will be sparked) Resistance 2 multiplayer looks awesome, a hell of a lot better than the original's multiplayer, but again it looks a bit re-hashy.

basically: both of these games have yet to interest me :(

i'm not a lemming or a cow, and actually own both 360 and PS3

and i'm gonna say gears 2 from what i've seen so far

plus, i thing epic are better at making great graphics than insomniac from what i've seen

I'm more of PS fan and I think Gears looks heaps better. Both look like they're gonna be rushed though imo.

I think it would be best (for us gamers, since we play games and not sales) if both games were delayed till mid 2009.

Well I would say that in terms of textures it will be gears 2.

BUT it seems that to do that epic have made all the background stuff scripted, likw tith the enemies. Plus we have seen videos of R2 with loads of enemies on screen at once, so from that view resistance wins.

Yeah i agree, and am really interested for details on both games... a couple of months back was very sceptical when 'Sony' decided to have Resistance2 battling against the mighty GeOW2 during the same period... however the more info comes out on resistance2 the more hyped i get... This time around the fight seems much more even and surely all of us (PS3 & Xbox360/PC owners) will be getting two great games...

Watch the gameplay video where you are on a raised platform with all the enemies lower down and those burmacks following you. If you watch it could can easily tell that all the enemies on the ground are scripted, one by the way they move, and then there is the giveaway when the player aims at the guys on the ground and the crosshais dont go red like with real enemies. You fight 3 enemies at a time, and there is a movie as the background, all those enmeies, they are just part of a video playing i the background.

No hes saying they CAN be killed.

lol if you're gonna try to make a comment atleast make sure you know what you're talking about. Even if they were not shootable they are no way "Videos" like you saying. They would be using a static mesh that follows a directed path with no interaction at all. Instead you got flocking AI on the meshes making them interact with the meshes around them, hence why you see the locust runing around eachother when they get too close. With that said Cliff has said you can kill them only further disproving what you are saying.

well he could have just re-played the game and actually show the journalist he could actually kill them, but he didnt... however am not saying in the final game there won't be scenes with a large amount of enemies you can kill...

Are we talking about 2 different videos or something? becuase there is loads on the internet about how you cant as well.

From what i saw, and many other saw, you cant shoot them. Watch my video, if you know of another video where the player shoots at tons of enemies actually killing them, post a link becuase i am getting this game and it would be great if you really could shoot all those enemies.

you know what i meant, I know it was not a video but then it was not something you could interact with.

Those few shots all were aimed dead on the enemy, the crosshair did not go red like with the others, thats it!

Sorry if you dont like my opinion but unless someone posts a video of someone actually shooting an enemy on the ground with effect the evidence points in my direcion.

I would really like to see a video where you could shoot thse enemies, I want the game but so far I have not seen it. There have been countless threads about this and all the time the conclusion is its scripted. Please by all means prove me wrong, I would like for the enemies to be shootable, but no one had disproven me yet.

... It's Pre-made because it has to be or do you expect them to create a website and show the game live to the consumers? Otherwise they are gonna have to record the gameplay off their dev kit and chop it up into a smaller video so it not only doesn't spoil the entire level, but is good for a teaser that shows off some main mechanics.

that was cool. OK you were right I was wrong :(

Dont bash me here though I am just stating a fact. Dont expect to fight hundreds of locusts properly. What i mean is in that video they were shooting loads on the ground, but none fought back. As I expected the more enemies you have, the dumber they get. So what you will have it tons of enemies that are really dumb and just run in one direction. Then when one climbs up on to the platform they will probably get an AI boost and act like a normal locust.

Its like with R2 where there are loads of enemies, but they are dumb. But that does not matter though, even if they are dumb it makes the game seem much larger in terms of scale. Thanks for posting the video! :) I was not really excited about this game befre but now I am!

at least i admited that I was wrong unlike most people on these forums would :P
