They spend and made a lot of money developing them but that shouldn't be reasons for becoming GOTY contenders.
Same why I wouldn't call COD:Ghosts a GOTY contender.
AC4 is good at everything that is Far Cry about it, and everything AC about it is bad. Which is like more than half of it. AC4 combat is horrendous. It's super simple, completely unrealistic yet still no fun when approached in a gamy way. I find it worse than say the Batman combat and even that was getting boring after a while. Waiting for counters is like one of the worst introduced elements of combat in this generation. The story in both games is just a mess imo. GTA:V is fracking boring after you've played SR4. Nothing happens in GTA:V that impressed me. At the end of the day I didn't have a lot of fun with either title. They're good but not great. Just blockbusters.
