Detroit. One of the few fans of Heavy Rain and Beyond two souls. I am very excited, because the premise seems highly original.
All look like regurgitated trash.
For something new and fresh, look no further than Mighty Sea of Thieves. :P
Spider-Man for me. Lost interest in the God of War franchise after the GoW 3. Semi interested in Detroit however that’ll be something I get for cheap later on. Not at all interested in Dreams and am pretty ho-hum on Days Gone.
I'm not hyped for any of them, but I think Dreams has by far the biggest potential to wow me. Followed by Detroid. The other 3 I probably won't even buy. Maybe Spiderman if it's really cheap and got good reviews and actually has some good gameplay between cutscenes and QTEs
I am also not really hyped about any of those titles, but I am looking forward to trying our GoW. I will purchase Spider Man and Detroit, but not really excited about them. Days Gone could be okay, but I feel it will be a lot like the rest of Sony's 3rd person games.
God of War = MEGATON #1 most anticipated 2018 game , by far (multiplats included).
Probably Dreams, GoW and Spidermam.
Days Gone looks wank, Detriot might be good but I’ve yet to like a QD,s game.
Honestly folks, has Sony really had that stellar of 1st party offerings compared to previous generations? I look at that list and go meh.
Detroit definitely day one, God of War is a maybe. Spiderman no interest for me, Days Gone looks incredibly boring, hard to pull off for a trailer but they did it somehow.
Those are my top 3 most anticipated. GoW and SpiderMan are the least interesting to me because they're based on existing properties. I may try them later down the road, though.
I'm hype for God of War 4 due to taking this series to Norse Mythology and changing the God of War formula is a nice welcome refreshing to see. My second PS4 exclusive on the list is Spider-Man PS4 giving the fact I'm a Marvel fan of the Comics and such, I just hope this new Spider-Man game is something like from Spider-Man 2. My third and final PS4 game of 2018 is Detroit: Become Human. As a sci-fi fanboy, Detroit has that Human vs Android you would see in a sci-fi movie and for this reasons, it also reminds me of the upcoming movie Alita: Battle Angel in a way and I do like few of David Cage games.
So yeah:
I don't see myself buying any of them.
I'll turn on my PS4 for Yakuza 6 and Netflix this year...and probably nothing else.
Sadly I'm not super excited about and of those. Bloodborne 2, new proper Valkyria Chronicles or follow up to The Last Guardian... That would excite me. Or
God Of War, Spiderman is technically a second party title since they don't own Insomniac just the IP to the game.
Dreams looks like it might be fun. Like a better Minecraft.
I don't know enough about Days Gone yet to know if it's a game or movie.
The rest are all interactive movies with soap opera plots, so I have no interest in them.
for me, Detroit, David Cage has the capability to sell good stories, and am excited to see Quantic Dream focus on the choice-consequence design these types of games should have, which they completely abandoned with Beyond: Two Souls, but Beyond: Two Souls goes to show the power of a good story as choices were more superficial to the narration but man did the games story carry things despite this
my main problem with Heavy Rain was that it was a mystery, and in many ways knowing key details to that mystery in my first playthrough killed my desire to play through it numerous times, my favorite part of Indigo Prophecy / Fahrenheit was all those playthroughs I did and how I found my story going in different directions depending on the choices I made in each playthrough until I felt I exhausted prodding the game where I felt I reached the desired/intended conclusion the game designers hoped for
I voted for GOW because it's the game I have the least reservations toward. Who knows WTF dreams will become, Days Gone has the unfortunate reality of living in TLOU's shadow, and QD has a history of making some questionable artistic and creative decisions with their projects (even with the games I liked, there were problems).
So between Spider-man and GOW, I'm more inclined to express faith in Santa Monica than Insomniac. Plus I'm intrigued by both the setting and format of GOW more than I am Spider-man.
The only Sony game in 2018 that I care about has already been released and that was Shadow of the Colossus. I'm not hyped for any of these other games. If I have to pick, I guess I would pick God of War since the setting is at least intriguing, but I fear that it will just be a crappy The Last of Us clone.
