Which of these Sony 1st party games of 2018 are you most excited for?

Well I never said Sony owned Spiderman. But they do have the gaming rights. That's not a small thing.

When Sony owned the movie rights, it fell under the Sony umbrella.

Most people are just saying Marvel just traded the gaming rights for the movie rights.

Yes Sony pictures OWNS Spiderman film rights. Fox owns Xmen and FF. Has nothing to do with gaming. Activision used to be licensed to make Spiderman games now Sony is. And Sony did not use a first party studio to make this Spiderman game. No matter how you cut it, its not a first party game. It is a second party developed exclusive for the PS4.

Disney takes no profit from Spiderman homecoming because it is a Sony Pictures film. And Sony gets no money from Spiderman being in Avengers or or Civil War. The game rights are still owned by Disney/Marvel just licensed to Sony just like Star Wars to EA. Now that Disney owns Marvel they aren't trading or selling ownership of characters anymore.

Spider-Man, god of war, days gone

God of War followed closely by Spiderman and then Days Gone. I am legitamently looking foward to those three games. Could care less about Detroit and Dreams.

It's a toss up between Dreams and Spiderman, both ought to be really good (plus Dreams seems so interesting!).

And I clearly said I don't care how they treat it. It is in no way really first party. They don't own the IP or the dev making the game.

MSFT calls play anywhere games exclusives, don't they? But they are playable on PC which means in reality they aren't exclusives.

You're still wrong. Disney/Marvel still control the gaming rights. They can decide at any point in time they would prefer another studio to make Spiderman games. Just like rumors about the Star Wars license being taken from EA. The owner can do that anytime they wish. They'll just pay a penalty. You don't understand legalities.

Now You're asking about it being exclusive, when back in our original debate I clearly kept saying Spiderman isn't a first party game, its a PS4 exclusive. Keep your argument consistent, will you please?

I wish there were a ALL OF THE ABOVE option, but I picked God Of war since it's right around the corner.

If these are the big games from Sony in 2018, I guess my PS4 is going to be on break until next year!
