Which One Is The Better Franchise.... Forza or GT

I would like to know which one is the most popular.

Popular? GT5 is much more popular than Forza series

GT is the Call of duty of racing

personally? i hate racing games

I've loved Forza from the start. I still enjoy GT4 though.

Forza.It klutchkicks the s*** out of GT.

I prefer the Forza series. Just played the Forza 4 demo and it's good.

I am going to buy it on release as I did GT5. I also have two racing wheels and love racing games.

Did you read my comment carefully? i mean in popularity and even sales :)

If it was not for GT, there would not be a forza, Grand turismo still have a special place in my heart, with that said Forza is greatly improving at a good rate while GT although improving the games take too long to get release and the company tries to aim for perfection which is bad.

I like my codemasters games more so i always took to them. But if i did have to choose i think Forza looks a better game.

GT1 - revolution for console racers

GT2 - more of the same but packed with content

GT3 - revolution in console graphics

GT4 - like GT3 but more content

GT5 - very good, content packed racer but failed a little to justify the extreme hype

Forza 1 - good alternative for GT4 but not quite up in terms of content and polish

Forza 2 - more like Forza 1 in HD

Forza 3 - what Forza 2 should have been

Forza 4 - yet to come out but looks like what Forza 3 should have been

GT wins on the whole, quite obviously.

Forza no doubt, but I prefer PGR and Dirt a lot more.

As a franchise, GT.

Though Forza 4 looks better than GT5.

I think Forza has a better upgrading system, but GT is better when it comes to the actual racing part of the game IMO. Plus the controls just feel more natural and realistic in GT for some reason...

If anything, Forza (all of them) is what GT should have been after 14 years of reiterating the same formula.

Peferrably, FORZA. It's more fun than GT.

Sales between titles aren't even close. GT is a far more popular franchise. Now, which series is better.... that's a SW discussion.

I have always liked the GT games better.... But Forza 4 actually looks really good, and not just graphics, but the over all game.

Forza is defo ahead this gen.

As a franchise, there is no denying that GT is bigger. As for fun, well that is personal opinion. I'm kinda torn between the two.

By the System Wars metagame which uses just Gamespot scores, GT has only one AAA title (GT3). Forza is more consistently AAA, both here on GS and by all the aggregate sites.

Going by just the gamespot scores is like just going by one single persons opinion, as that is all a critic review is, an informed opinion. Metacritic is the only way to truly judge the ratings to compare GT and Forza. Sales are not really a good way to go by a games worth, but GT has sales going for it too, as well as critic score.

In a couple weeks, PD will be releasing a large update called "Spec 2.0". Apparently it is supposed to be quite large as PD has been working on it for awhile. Kaz tweeted that more dlc will follow a week after spec 2.0

Good I thought PD is following Capcom foot steps with SF4 hyper super ultra editions :D.

GT for me because of the nostalgia factor.

Overall I still like GT better, if only because of how good GT4 was on PS2. Maybe that's just nostalgia kicking in.

Although I admit, this gen Forza has been the better series.

On here, Forza will likely win the conversation, but sales and overall popularity go to GT. GT5 annihilated Forza 3 in sales. The GT5 prologue sales alone was at least even with Forza 2. GT doesn't need to put out a new game every 2 years. They make a killing off of every release. They have sold well over 40 million copies between the first four releases.
