Which One Is The Better Franchise.... Forza or GT

Huh? PD releases one game that is under 90 on metacritic and now the GT franchise is considered AA? Not to mention GT5 sales are nearly double that of FM3.

As a franchise, there is no denying that GT is bigger. As for fun, well that is personal opinion. I'm kinda torn between the two.

I think Gran Turismo is more revered for being the game that made this type of racing so big on consoles in the first place, but I think Forza is considered the new king of the racetrack. GT's got the legacy, but the current 1st place winner is Forza.

This isnt even a debate.

Forza is the new king of console racing games. It has been the king since Forza 1 came out for the Xbox. GT is just running off its reputation and PD havent done anything to push the genre forward in a very long time.

I can't stand GT5s menus, loading times and graphics last time i played it. Has it improved in that area? I don't like that lack of mods as well.

GT has more realistic handling so GT.

Forza feels very arcadey and doesn't really resemble realistic driving on a track.

The point is simple,GT5 isn´t as good as Forza 3 and most likely Forza 4,but it did outsold F3 and will probably outsell F4 as well. Why do you think it´s like that? If GT5,as it is(as in the exact same game)was released under the name of Forza or another name,it obviously wouldn´t have sold anywhere near as much as it did,so of course,the GT name has everything to do with it,not the overall quality of the product,wich is good,but not as good as Forza. I´m not trying to hate on GT,it´s one of the very few games that I went to the midnight release to get the collectors edition,but I´m not blind. ;)Arach666

I understand your point, and the vein that you're making it in, but let's be honest. The majority of gamers aren't viewing Forza and GT in a competition... they're simply buying the game that comes out on the system they own. And both series owe a debt to Gran Turismo for building an interest in the genre on consoles.

GT has the bigger sales and better known then ForzainEurope and Japan.

Forzacritically is more successful then GT, and may start getting Europes attention.

I have GT5 with the Logitech G25, getting Forza 4 with the Fanatec steering......................admitedly I will always have a special place in my heart for Project Gotham Racing.

I can't decide whats more over rated then Forza, Halo or Gears? Tough and legitimate question! It is funny how the features and mechanics in the games are hailed as innovative and revolutionary by fanboys yet when the same features are implemented in another game its generic and not moving the genre forward lol. In what ways is Forza moving the genre forward? Or Gears or Halo for that matter?I want logical answeres! In my most humble of opinion Gran Turismo ANNIHILATES Forza. Not only does it have a ton more features, options, and cars, but it has much better driving mechanics and the better graphics. Forza can't compete with Gran Turismo. GT1 - revolution for console racers

GT2 - more of the same but packed with content

GT3 - revolution in console graphics

GT4 - like GT3 but more content

GT5 - very good, content packed racer but failed a little to justify the extreme hype

Forza 1 - good alternative for GT4 but not quite up in terms of content and polish

Forza 2 - more like Forza 1 in HD

Forza 3 - what Forza 2 should have been

Forza 4 - yet to come out but looks like what Forza 3 should have been

GT wins on the whole, quite obviously.

On Gamespot, the letter ratings have a very specific meaning of score brackets. It has nothing to do with sales, budget, or anything else of the like.

AAAA: 10
AAA: 9, 9.5
AA: 8, 8.5
A: 7, 7.5

And you can pretty much figure how the scores rate below that, like 6's are a B, 5's are a C, and so on.

On SW, we use the GS score. MC score is usually the second score we refer to. In both cases, GT is a AA series. It's just the spoken rules of SW. I myself don't care if a game is AA, AAA or whatever as I just play what interests me. But a lot of people do care. If you like GT, which many people do, than by all means go and play it. More power to you.
