I'm having a real hard time trying to decide which one to get. Which one and why? And if anyone can state the facts about each system i'd also appreciate it. The only thing i know about the 360 is it has a better online system, a better controller and more people and more of my friends have it. Can you guys list the reasons why to get to which disregarding the fact that more of my friends have the 360.

I see it like this...

PS3 pros...

-diverse exclusives with outstanding graphics and gameplay.

-PSN is free

-the playstation store has a lot of content

-the controller surprisingly has a long battery life before charging

-BLU RAY!

360 pros...

-a huge set of exclusives a few years ago, as well as shooters and ussually better multi plats

-Xbox live is cleary awesome.

-Xbox live, like PSN, has just as much if not more content

-best controller since the original NES

-price is cheap with a lot of great games on sale

------I'd personally go with the 360 if you said your friends have it. If none of ur friends have a ps3, you'll find urself playing single player a lot. Both are top notch though, and both have pros over the other...

Most of the games that are on the 360 are shared with the PC so your better off getting a PS3 because thats the only way you could play Sony exclusives.

if you have a gaming PC, then get a PS3. all PS3 exclusives stay on the PS3. all xbox 360 exclusives eventually end up on the PC. you want to pay money to play online? i know PC gamers know this is bad more than anyone else does.

If you wanna buy a console for online gaming, X360 is the system for you. PS3's online is nowhere near as good as the 360. The PS3, though, has the better exclusives library.

In this case get a 360 if its what your friends have its more fun to enjoy what your real life friends are enjoying. I would say the exact same thing about the Ps3 if thats what your friends were playing.

I have both - they're both fun to have and play games on. However, my PS3 game collection is pretty much all exclusives, because I got my 360 first.

That being said, you should probably get a 360 with at least a 60GB hard drive. You're gonna want to play Halo Reach when it comes out. And all the other Halos. Your life will be changed.

Xbox 360 has a larger library of quality titles, and offers a wider variety to choose from. Multiplatform games are normally superior on Xbox 360 as well. My two cents.

Does a larger library even matter when both systems have over 50 great games unless you can afford to buy em all.

Can't go wrong with either. If you don't have any, then both have a lot of old games available that you can buy for cheap. Many great multiplats are found on both consoles as well. Also consider the utility of the console such as do you want wireless or no, are you willing to play for live or no, are you going to use the console to watch blurays or no, are you interested in a certain online community or no, etc.

Personally, I couldn't decide on one over the other and got them both.

The 360's "larger library" is made up mostly of titles from 2005-2007, in the last few years the only high scoring exclusives it's gotten at MC is Fable 2, Gears 2, and Forza 3, sequels lol... The PS3 is the better choice dude, it's gotten like 4 times as many high scoring games since then, it's more reliable, feature rich, no hidden fee's etc...

if you a pc gamer, then get ps3...

PS3 has better exculsive games, plus it's free to play games online.

Aspc gamers, paying $ to unlock online play is a big lol.

Hidden fees? Man cows are getting desperate, you guys are lame. The only hidden fee that crosses my mind between both systems would be the fact that if your PS3 stops working, you'll actually have to pay to get it replaced

Most 360 games came in 2005-2007? WOW man, thats almost as bad as "PS3 has no games" claim!

Actually 360 has been getting more games than PS3 every single year.

Since you own a PC, I'd personally recommend the PS3. That's because a lot of the games I enjoyed most on the 360 have also been on PC, and the better multiplats aspect of the 360 is null, since they're even better on PC.

Look at every factor, and see which one is the most important to you. I'm guessing games.

Online service, if that's important I'd say 360 wins but not by much.

Value for money, if that's important, PS3 comes with Wi-fi, free online, Blu-Ray and such all out of the box

Media features? Both are substantial, PS3 I say edges it out though as it now also has Netflix.

Reliability? Obviously the PS3, but it shouldn't be to much of an issue as m$oft gives you a 3 year warranty.

Games in terms of exclusives, what would you prefer? Gears, Fable, Forza, Lost Odyssey and what not or, Uncharted, Resistance, Killzone, Ratchet & Clank, Metal Gear, LittleBigPlanet, Modnation racers, inFAMOUS ect ect

I second this point of view. I'd also go with the 360. Although PS3 exclusives are awesome, I think that the overall library on the 360 is better and has better online (though you have to pay for it).

i think the ps3 will have a longer lifespan since it came out a year after 360, and the ps1 and ps2 lasted for 10 years. plus you need that dumb wifi adapter for the 360 which cost $100 more when tis built in on ps3, and ps3 online is free, and better games.

This is what you get for asking this in System Wars. This forum is the last place you want to ask anyone on which system to spend your hard-earned $300, sorry bud. But honestly, I'll try to give you my opinion. I only have a PS3, so I won't suggest that you purchase it because I haven't tried the X360 out, but here is where it stands from my perspective: PS3: + Free online service + Plentiful great, exclusive games that you won't find on PC + Can act as a full-fledged media center (Blu-Ray) + Cheaper (more material out of the box) X360: +XBOX Live is far better than PSN (however, if these premium rumors are true, then I may have to revise that statement soon) +In my opinion, the controller is more comfortable (coming from an original XBOX owner) +A lot of exclusive games (granted, a few of them are on PC) +Larger American fanbase at the moment I can't recommend either of them, but I can say that I own a PS3 and I can easily say it was one of the best $300 I've spent.

PS3 because I have one and I need more e-friends.

On a more serious note, it all depends your taste of games. Are you more interested in PS3 exclusives, or 360 exclusives? That's what led me to buy a PS3, at least.

Why? i do have a gaming rig so i'm curious.

if you dont know. then you must not play console type games on your rig. 360 gets knocked for some of its best *console exclusives* are on pc. but really, if you own a gaming rig you dont need any home console. pc has enuff good exclusives on its own plus the shared ones it has with ps3 and 360. ps3 doesnt really have a exclusive worth buying a ps3 for. sure they have some good games but almost none of them have replay value... they dont have anything like gears, halo l4d. which can and does get played for years after they get released. its main thing is blu ray. which can be played on a pc

dont trust this guy either, that massive list is full of games that are really own renting unless your into buying then trading your new games in a month later. backwards compatibility has been removed by sony so they could save money. all it has is free online. which is great. but the psn store is full of nothing to buy. do not buy a used older ps3!! they suffer from hardware problems. like ylod. and sony charges you close to 200 bucks to fix it. and you can get good stand alone blu ray players for 99 bucks now. so you dont have to stress your gaming system.

Yes, because it gives you more options to choose from -- and therefore, you'll be more likely to find a game you'll enjoy. More quality games is always better.

Xbox 360

- Many huge real games you can play for life and collect, like older consoles (Mass Effect 1-2-3, Fable 2-3, Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon, Banjo 3, Alan Wake, Kameo etc)

- Best versions of most multipltform games

PS3

- One huge real games you can play for life and collect (Demn Soul)

- More short, linear exclusives to rent for one day

.

So, if you have the time and appetite for quality gaming, go with 360

Sure. Here's the top ten exclusive games for each console, determined by GS score:

PS3:

  1. Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
  2. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
  3. God of War 3
  4. Demon's Souls
  5. inFamous

The Ps3 games are very appealing to me. The only reason id get the 360 imo now is for halo. So I'll probably go with the ps3 now. I don't think i can play HD with this moniter can i? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236050&Tpk=asus%20vw224u
