Xbox 360. It's proabably what your friends have. I just don't see too many friends where I'm at dropping $1k+ on a PC.
Wii for Local Multiplayer.
PS3 for Online gaming, mostly because it has a good amount of fighters which is the only genre i like to play online, and the DS3 is miles better than any other controller for fighters.

No need to buy an Alienware to play on PC you know.

I assume this doesn't include the OS and monitor?
Add $99 for OS and why would you include a monitor? I never add the cost of my tvs for consoles.Any system that has an online service that is not limited or restricted from users because of outside madaroty service agreements is the best.
so I would say all systems are best for MP except xbox360 since you can't even use that systems online serive unless you subscribe to an outside online agreement even if you own the system and games.

A Phenom Quad core,8GB of DDR3,1 TB barracuda HDD,and samsung DVD writer,a Gforce 460 Overclocked 1GB memory and Windows home premium 64 bit = $537..Xbox 360 for me. I also got more time out of online on the Wii than I did when I had my PS3. Even though the online isn't that great for the Wii, the games were better in my opinion than on PS3. But still 360 blows them both out of the water.
If you like local, then it's probably Wii.
If you like MMOs and RTSs, go with PC.
If you like online shooters, go with 360 or PS3.
If you have something else on your mind, probably go with PS3.

Actually, if you like anything, go with the PC.
If you like local, go with the Wii.
And that's about it.

Well some people don't prefer keyboard and mouse for shooters. I guess I should have mentioned analog controls.
PC is both my online, and local MP choice.
Online because it's the PC, so duh! :P
Also local because all of my friends are PC gamers along with me. LAN parties are amazing! :)
Though for split-screen gaming 360 has been the best console this gen amongst my friends.
PS3>PC>360>Wii. Was there more systmes listed than that, 'cause I can't remember.
PS3 just has more MP games I want to play. On PC I d/l'd TF2, and I've been playing it, but I'm not digging it for whatever reason. I also tried out BO during the free weekend, Homefront, and maybe one other online game on PC that I can't remember.
So far, I didlike that all the games I play on PC feel exactly the same.
Whatever you have the most friends on. I buy most multiplayer, multiplats for 360 just because I have way more friends on live than I do on PSN.
I've had a ton of fun with Brawl this gen, so, for me personally, Wii.

I don't know about the second one but I know the one from Shr33e3d is real. I remember when he said that. It still makes me chuckle to this very day.
same here plus i dont like gaming on a keyboard and mouse... mmos is all i can stand on pcXbox 360. It's proabably what your friends have. I just don't see too many friends where I'm at dropping $1k+ on a PC.

It's simple, PC for everything that is FPS, MMO, RPG, RTS, and ROMS.
The consoles are only for platformers, and that's about it...ooo and I guess sports games too but no one counts those.
The PC does everything better and is very very versatile. Want to play on your TV then hook it up, want to play on your couch then sit down. Want to play with a controller then hook up your 360/wii/PS3/NES/SNES/Gamecube/N64 controller to you computer and enjoy. Want to play your old games from the 80/90s era then download an emulator and ROM them up. Want kinect hook it up to your computer, want to do everything a console can but better and have a computer then go PC.
Mouse and Keyboard should be used for majority of games (mainly FPSs) while using controller is good/better for other certain types of games. PC gamers don't just use keyboard and mouse we also use controller for certain games
Plus being a PC gamer is cheaper, it's a fact if you don't believe me. To own just a console you have to have a TV, so you have to add that to the price, you must also add the price of your laptop/computer you own (because majority of people own some sort of computer no matter what). You have to add the price of your laptop and/or compuer because you would have to if you owned a gaming PC. Then you must add the more expensive video games cost if you own a console and must add on all the extra controllers and headsets and harddrives, etc. So really owning a console experience cost over $1000 dollars.
