Xbox 360. It's proabably what your friends have. I just don't see too many friends where I'm at dropping $1k+ on a PC.

You do know you can use a game controller on your PC, right?

In terms of TV cost, you guys are forgetting that you can use a monitor to display a console game. Ever hear of AVI connectors for 360 or PS3? It's what I do. Therefore I wouldn't count cost for monitors or TVs in this equation because it is negligible. To people saying PC gaming costs thousands of dollars just STOP. I bought a 200 dollar emachine and upgraded it to top of the line 2004 standards (this was in 2006) for $150. If you only want to play the newest games at say medium quality (which is still better than consoles), you only need to buy a 60 dollar graphics card (radeon 5570 comes to mind). Obviously consoles are cheaper overall though which is why I am a proud owner of an Xbox 360 which I do the majority of my "next-gen" online/offline gaming on. However I do use a PC to play MMOs and RTSs so I feel I can be objective when I say that while PC gaming is more expensive it is not at the absurd level some of you are proclaiming it to be at.

Extact. Nothing like playing competitive Starcraft II, competitive League Of Legends, cooperative Shogun 2 or clan raids on World Od Warcraft at Xbox 360 sat in our confy couch. Oh, wait....

PC for online without a doubt, this isn't even debatable LAN is great, but inconvenient. Local Multiplayer? 360 or Wii depending on the games.

It really depends , but if like me you like every genre I'd put in this order :

1- ps3 there's more variation of genre regarding the games you would want to play online and performs the same as the 360.If you care about having cross game chat then put this on third.

2 - pc because it's the same as 360 , as far as i'm concerned but you don't have to pay 60$ aside from your bills to play on it.

3 - 360 because it's the same as the other two but you pay and it doesn't offer a great variety of quality games in some genres.

4- wii , does it have online mp?

I assume you're asking about online not local , if local : ps3/360>wii>pc , yes in that other since the wii lacks several games that come in the other 2.

Wii wins in local multiplayer. Wii Sports, Brawl and NSMB don't get old for me in that regard :p I'm not much of an online multilplayer gamer, so I can't say much in that regard.
