Consoles are what mature people buy for their kids.

What the TC hasn't lived long enough to figure out, when you finally do mature, you find yourself wanting to regress.

I'm more interested in retro games now than ever, in picking up a Switch to become re-acquainted with the characters I grew up with.

The only people who care about maturity are kids. When you're all grown up you don't give a shit about people caring if you're mature or not.

All i want now is to be a kid again anyway

As the saying goes "youth is wasted on the young"

Right?

I mean, I do remember a time when I wanted to be perceived as mature or grown up... I was 12 years old playing Mortal Kombat on my Sega Genesis lol.

This grown up shit is overrated, take me back.

Best part of adulthood is getting laid and drunk. Other than that its not all that LOL

"Trying to be mature"?

PC, definitely. Look at all the insecure big boys who think they're so manly and mature for playing big boy games on PC and not console kiddies games with women or anime or the likes...

Mature for a gaming system would simply mean that the hardware and/or software has reached it's peak in terms of capability and stability. Aside from that, the question makes no sense whatsoever.

Hmm maybe PC? Being able to handle something a little bit more complex among the options but with the potential of wider horizons sounds more mature to me at least one aspect.

I know Nintendo gets a reputation for being a console for kids, but I think their IPs appeals to the nostalgia in adults who grew up playing the classic Nintendo systems.

Nintendo's core audience aren't kids anymore, but adults who grew up with Nintendo... ever since they lost the kids' market to Apple and Samsung.

In that case, the most mature would be the arcades. That's where it all started... And the arcades were so mature that kids were often barred entry.

LOL. Gamers trying to be mature...if your trying to be "mature" through your video game console, that itself is very immature. Not the poster, just the subject in general

PC is used for people working jobs. Booooooring. Xbox One is the most mature. It has the most M rated games of the lot. PC has a bunch of educational games for kids. Nintendo is aimed to be family friendly and Sony goes for the edgy teenagers. Xbox One is truly the system for adults.

How about you grow up first before commenting on the subject of maturity.

Maturity has nothing to do with it. If you want to know which system is aimed more towards the adult crowd I'd say now it's Xbox. They are pushing the 4K it's more than just a gaming device, trying to hit that demo that is all about their TV and audio experience.

Last gen it was completely opposite it was PS3 and Bluray trying to appeal to this demo. 360 was geared to the teens and gamers and now PS4 is a beefed up 360 ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Shhh !

Its for a reason kids are more attracted to colorful and more happy-like icons. Dont be so sensitive.

Ofc that is not an indication if someone is mature , personally im huge fan of reading Manga and watching some anime shows like One punch Man or i love some indie colorful and cute games but if someone wants plenty of horror games , splaughter , blood and shooting people in the head AKA mature content , then sorry but Nintendo products is the least attractive for this kind of gamer , which i am big time for example ( my best games ever are all some sort of horror / bloody mess , same with movies and animes )

PC is the clear winner here and yes there are certain gaming systems that indicate less "maturity" than others . Theres no way a 6-7 years old kid will play Resident Evil 7 on PC but for sure would have great time playing Kart on Wii U. And when Nintendo consoles are all about such kind of experiences, which nothing wrong to that , automatically is making it less appealing to people that love mature content in games.

@AzatiS: Do you like Junji Ito's work?

Anyway, on topic:

For me, if the topic is being satirical, I would say the PC as having the most horror games and highest gore. In terms of actually being a mature human being, it doesn't matter. As long as you enjoy your preferences without reservations to what others think of you, you're mature in my book.

I dont think he said what platform or system defines you as a mature human being.

@AzatiS: He didn't say much of anything, Az. :P

Mature can be read in different ways. He may mean mature content or mean a mature person. The original post says neither specifically.

Its how you saw it. I saw it as a question as of which system is better for people that want more mature content and not if defines someone as mature person in real life. We talking about video games here in the first place.

@AzatiS: Right. That's why I answered for both because I wasn't sure. :P

I wasn't sure if he was asking which would make you look more mature in life to those around you; like the social stigmas that come from playing on Nintendo titles. That sort of thing. Hence why two answers felt most appropriate.

So I take it you aren't a Junji Ito fan?

It's actually pretty easy.

If you ask this question, you're not mature.

If you think it's more mature to own a Sony or MS console than a Nintendo, you're not mature.

If you think Call of Duty is more mature than Mario, you're not mature.

If you're trying to be mature, you're probably not mature.

@SecretPolice said:

The only right answer. :P

This is a good response to Litchie's terrible post. She should have read this and realized that adults do not watch Dorah the Explorer or Blues Clues.

A good friend of mine used to love Nintendo but I made sure to try my best to make him feel like a manchild whenever he mentioned Nintendo. I remember one time he was almost crying. I convinced him to sell his Super Nintendo on Ebay and he treated me to a nice dinner. I really am a great friend for helping others grow up.

Xbox is infinitely more mature than Nintendo could ever dream of being. Hence I got my friends to get Xbox Ones instead of the PS4. My friend that loved Nintendo did not want to buy the Switch and be the butt of my jokes anymore (I asked him if he wanted a Switch and he assured me that he did not because he was done with Nintendo).
