I'm interested in both but I think Dragon Age Origins will probably be better. Anyone notice the similarities to The Lord of the Rings in DAO?

Over 80 hours of gameplay along with user created modules, I've already put my money on Dragon Age Origins (literally, I've preordered myself a copy).

I think in overall quality, Dragon Age Origins is going to be better. I am more excited for Borderlands however.

Personally I'd say Dragon Age by a country mile, but why are we comparing a singleplayer-only fantasy RPG with a multiplayer-focused sci-fi shooter-RPG?

Dragon Age is more likely to be better, since, well, BioWare has experience in this genre.

It's great to see the standards for RPGs diminish to the point where anything can now be called an "RPG".

Dragon Age, I have no real interested in Borderlands.. it doens't look that great to me. DAO has me excited because its the first return to form for Bioware since Neverwinter Nights, and I loved that game, KOTOR and Mass Effect were great games, I just coulden't get into them like a NWN type game.

They're two different types of rpgs, one is a weird rpg/shooter hybrid designed around coop while the other is a classic d&d rpg.

Which one is better depends on what you are looking for.

I'm more interested in Borderlands because of the original design but I'll be buying both.

Sonic RPG and Jade Empire say they're not batting 100. Love 'em, but frankly, not all of their games are spectacular. Some of them just suck.

Dragon Age... I don't like Borderlands new artstlyle and I don't like the fact that it is basically a multiplayer game and not focused on a single player gamer... Every interview with them seems focused on co-op and nothing ever on the actual plot and story of the game... Dragon Age looks great...lets just hope it's not too dumbed down, Bioware has gone down hill since Baldur's Gate 2!!!

I'd take NWN, Mass Effect, and KOTOR over BGII.

I could see Dragon Age and Borderlands both getting AAA scores and I honestly can't figure out which one will be better. I flip flop between them nonstop. At the moment, I'm leaning towards Borderlands, but yesterday I was going crazy getting excited for Dragon Age.

Borderlands hands down, I don't want another NWN right now or anytime soon for that matter. With the refreshing experience of Demon's souls I'm covered with dark fantasy thats different and incredibly fun.

And borderlands will scratch that FPS itch but also brings 4 player coop and after seeing the QL on GB it has me sold. Plus with the sheer number of my friends getting this game there will be no shortage of people to play with and have duels with.

According to hands on, the difference in Depth is so ginormous, that the Depth alone should make it easy for You to decide which one You want.
Dragon Age is incredibly deep, Borderlands is very shallow in comparison.
They can both be a lot of fun, depending on whether You want to get soaked up in a time consuming story with events, personalities, and tough decision making, or a lighthearted pick up and shoot RPG with lots of guns (which i expect is way easier to find friends for to play with).
They are miles apart.
I can't imagine that You can't choose >_>

I really don't have any interest in Dragon Age Origins, after watching some videos, it just doesn't interest me at all, though it will do better than Borderlands in reviews. Am I the only one who feels this way?

While Borderlands has over 60 hours of gameplay, co-op, and competitive modes. It interests me a lot more from the vids I saw. Can't wait to play as Lilith and have a avatar and sig for her.:D The TC knows what I'm going to say.:D

Both will be good games in their respective genres. Borderlands is more action oriented while DA is more rpg oriented (skills, character development, choices and consequences etc..). I'm getting DA first though, not sure with Borderlands if its MP oriented then its probably a bucket bin pick for me.

Only one out of every 10 games Bioware makes is good? I don't think thats true.
