So far, the only counter-response I'm getting is "bu bu bu GRAFIX!!!!" And a few quips about online, but that doesn't explain why it shouldn't go on a system full of users who clearly don't care.

Is there a legitimate reason? Anyone?

Deihmos

Who would want this on Wii? seriously why would Capcom waste their time and money on the Wii. Not everyone has one of those classic controllers so they will have to make it work with whatever controller the wii uses. That's a waste of time right there.

I imagine the 8 million or so people who bought brawl would give it a look. that's already a bigger install base than, you know, just about every hd fighter to release this gen combined.

Probably the PC version or maybe the PS3 version. I can't say I'm excited about the game though.

like I said....ever consider Capcom is sacrificing sales to withhold the quality of the title? I'm sure thats the reason its not on Wii. Not every developer just wants money, some do want their creations to be the best they can be. SF4 with a Wiimote is not the best it can be. SSBB is nothing like SF, stop comparing it.

turn the wimote on its side and use the arrows and 1, 2 buttons like in SSBB

two buttons? i didn't think people that bought a Wii were expecting games like these.

Haven't had that problem. The only fighter I played on PS3 was Soul Calibur 4. If the controller doesn't work out for me I may pony up the money for an arcade stick.

Dead Rising is a clear example of Capcom sacrificing sales to withold quality. Besides, Smash Bros clearly proved that a quality fighter could be achieved on Wii.

Seriously, for every hypothetical reason you come up with, there's a real-world example to smack it down. Give me something to work with here!

again....SSBB doesnt require 6 buttons. Stop comparing them....it was very doable on the wiimote, SFIV is not. Also, Dead Rising is a game that can be done with the wiimote. Developers put games on systems they see fit. The Wii is not fit for street fighter IV.

Give me a real-world example of how SSBB is anything like SF? Aside from having a stage and hitting each other....

Using Brawl as an example to justify your argument is not good because if the Wii's userbase had a fighting game audience you would have games like Guilty Gear Accent Core sell better than they currently do.

Smash Bros is a competitive fighting game. What more do you need? I suppose you're going to move the goal posts once again to "it's a Nintendo game" territory? Well if you can't compete, i guess you die off. Such is life.

By the way, "Stop comparing them...." followed by "Give me a real-world example of how SSBB is anything like SF". Well at least you're consistent in your contradictions.

way to attempt at sounding intelligent in your response. Your only response is a gamecube controller? give me a break, really. Smash Bros. isnt even close on the competition ladder to where street fighter is. Again, nothing about the Wii deems porting SFIV over to it useful. Poor controller, Poor visuals, poor online component. It's 2009, time for you to get another system.....(I'm still laughing at the thought of someone using the GC controller for SF, really)

Uh...wat?

I'll not bother replying to the same regurgitated statements that have already been addressed.

EDIT: Oh yeah, rofl at your blatent ignoring of my mention of the classic controller. I'd ignore it too if I had no defense against it.

Oh wait, "but not everyone has one!" Then again, I guess that one has already been adressed as well.

Woah there sheep calm down. It's not that serious. We can't all have every game we want on our system. You don't see me crying about SO4 or Mass Effect not being on the PS3.Just be glad you guys have a few amount of crappy multiplats instead of constantly getting shafted when it comes to the PS3 version of most multiplats.

no sorry, it definitely means you havn't had a logical answer for anything.....but yes you definitely ignored everything. You ignored everything and put your own ridiculous spin on why you're upset SFIV isnt coming to your underpowered little white box with a handicapped controller and non-existent online network. Keep enjoying SSBB, and accept the fact that SFIV isn't coming to your console of choice because it doesn't make sense to develop it for that console.

I'm getting the ps3 version when the price is right, until then I'll be picking up Killzone 2. I feel bad for those who are planning to use the 360 D-pad for Street Fighter 4, I played Streetfighter 2 HD remix on the 360 using the D-pad and hated every minute of it.

Edit:On topic,I won't be getting SF4 because I have never been a fan of the series and KZ 2 is just 25 days away so that's where my money is going this month.

Holy crap you're pissed off.

I'm simply saying that it is logical to put SFIV on the Wii. You have a based that's interested in fighting games. You know that this base will accept watered-down graphics so long as they are serviceable, and you know that your online-implementation doesn't have to be as good as the other consoles. That's all proven by one title.

It doesn't get much more logical than that. Besides, I wouldn't buy the game on Wii, or any system, anyway. I suck at fighters. I just fail to see why Capcom wouldn't use common sense when deciding which platforms to develop for.

Yeah I have SF HD remix on the 360 but I've played my friends on his PS3 more cause the 360 controller sux. But I'm glad that Capcom and Madcatz made a 6-button layout controller. I'll be playing more HD Remix on live now.

Nah, then it wouldn't have made sense. No JRPG has done phenominally on the 360 like Brawl has on Wii. It had to be a genre where one game did fantastic and another bombed.

My guess: Guilty Gear is a relatively niche IP. They've released like five iterations of the same game, incrementally changing it each time. It dilutes the brand. I doubt the game did overly fantastic on any platform, but I don't have any information to back that up, so it's just a guess.

Meh, I'm not too worried about that. There's a few PC online fighting game communities out there even now (of both native and emulated games)..so as long as the game isn't *extremely* demanding, something as popular as Street Fighter should attract a pretty good-sized community.

Capcom themselves are developing the PC version (rather than outsourcing development), so I wouldn't worry about system requirements too much either. They're been pretty awesome at developing & optimizing games on the platform.

From Beyond3D

"SF4 seems to have some very interesting properties regarding its rendering res, the game's normally running at the 720p, but when there're close ups (like when you're using supers) its resolution dynamically changes to 630p (1120 x 630) I did quite a bit of analysis on the shots posted at ruliweb, all the close up shots whether it's from cut scene or from middle of battle, they're all 630p. The link to the shots is..

http://ruliweb.empas.com/data/ruline....htm?num=16730

However this is the case with the PS3 version only, the 360 version maintains its 720p resolution all time.

The 360 version incorporates 2 x AA as well (could be 4 x AA, the analysis is based on the movie files from ruliweb, so I'm not 100% certain) while the PS3 version has zero AA."

I'll not bother replying to the same regurgitated statements that have already been addressed.

you do that. you addressed absolutely nothing....aside from saying if SSBB can do well SFIV can on the Wii as well....which isnt true at all.

There really is no reason for SFIV not to be on the Wii. Horrible graphics? Check out Capcom vs. Taksunoku, Wii title(and a fighting game:o). Horrible controls? People would buy Classic controllers for this game, which is a must for any SF game for the Wii. If there really was no demand for SF on the Wii, they would not have released Street Fighter II, SFIIT, SFIICE, and SSFII for the Virtual Console. And as far as online goes, the quality of any online gaming has to do with the servers they are running on. Obviously, SSBB's servers suck. But I believe Capcom would be running online matches through their own. So your claims of a SFIV Wii edition are not exactly set in stone.

PS3, but not because of the controller, both controllers suck compared to a stick. The reason I'm getting it for PS3 is because I don't pay for live

I'm still a bit uncertain on if I'll be picking this up at launch or not what with it coming out so closely to Killzone 2, Star Ocean: The Last Hope and RE5 all of which I want more than SF4. But if I gots the money I'd pick it up for the PS3 for the same reason I got SC4. PS3 d-pad >>> 360 d-pad.

Ohhh, have you tried DMC3 & Resident Evil 4 on the PC???

I did, and i gotta say Capcom does horrible jobs porting to PC :S

Idree

Wrong.

Ubisoft handled the PC versions of DMC3 and Resident Evil 4. Not Capcom. :|

Their most recent in-house-developed PC game was Devil May Cry 4, which was an awesome port. We're probably going to see the same with SFIV, and maybe even RE5. (Edit: Actually, didn't Jun Takeuchi say at one point that PC was Capcom's lead development platform for RE5?)

What's the deal with arcade sticks? Does it make you 1337 if you use one? Is it because all the pros use one? I've never bothered to ask until now. I'm fine with a gamepad.

Everything comes off more naturally, like using KB+M for shooters.

Also this thread just put a hilarious image in my head, SF with the gamecube controller  I can't imagine how terrible that would be.

Well the funny thing is I've used sticks before, and I actually prefer the controller over it. I never got used to it.
