probably black mesa. perfect recreation of a game that really set an example for how a game should be remade. the sad part is that, even though it was a remake, it didnt have that much less originality than most of the other titles this year :(

Probably a close match between Far Cry 3 and Halo 4, but I haven't played any of the others yet. Far Cry 3 is a worthy successor to the original Far Cry, but even more so was the first Crysis, and it was made by the original company. Far Cry 3 reminds me a lot of Just Cause 2, with the open-world and variety of things to do, but also a lot of Dead Island - if the zombies wore red shirts, and used guns. What I've played of Halo 4, it's at least as fun as 3 was when it came out and it's better than 2.

I would have said Far Cry 3 in a flash a few days ago but it takes a huge nose dive in quality in the second half. I'm also getting frustrated with some of the design choices like fall damage from short drops and the inability to pull yourself out of water unless there is a gradual slope or a ladder.
I am a warrior or the Rakyat! I can punch an alligator to death but I cannot pull myself out of a swimming pool unless there is a ladder or stair case!
I've also had enemies on the second island detect me through walls. Not cool man.
CS:GO coulda and shoulda been number 1, but it was made by a group of devs (hiddewn path) who really didnt understand what made the previous Cs games so special the game plays nothing like a CS game should.
Anyways, from that list its between Borderlands 2 and Farcry 3 for me.
With my PC down, me building a new one, and not into buying games at full price which puts me a year behind. The only FPS I have bought and played from this year is Black Ops 2 that I got for my kids for Christmas. But I have to admit it is a pretty good FPS. This is my first CoD this gen. So unlike everybody else, I couldn't give a rat's ass how it plays compared to past CoD of this gen and went in with an open mind. The campaign is pretty good and I love the multiplayer. I don't care for the zombie part, but that's just me. I do wish the maps were bigger or the number of players on the maps lowered to like 8 (4vs4) for some maps and no more than 12 for even the biggest maps. I am considering getting the season pass for the map packs they release, but not sure yet. I hope the map packs have some larger maps. I also wish you had the option to mute individual players instead of everybody. I love everything you get to unlock and the ranking system.
