Just curious because I now this would be a hard decision for some people. :P I'd choose Okami 2 because the original is the best game I have ever played on the PS2. :)

If Okami got the popularity it "deserved" would you people still consider it better than GTA? I think Okami's flaws would become more apparent to you and you wouldn't root for it as much. Not saying it's a bad game but it pales in comparison to the GTA series and I think one of the major attractions of this game is that it's cool to like something that the majority doesn't "understand".

What it did do was make the world 100%persistant and let the way you play the game, effect how the game turns out. For example you take out the guns expert early and your left with only the crappy level guns to play with. The genre is getting taken to new hights and even in different directions. This is far more important then a game like Okami, which seems to be more art style then substances. If GTA had no real influence and was just another big name game, then you would have a better argument.

It always works like this for GTA - they make one proper sequel then use that winning formula to make two more stand alone games. I'm looking forward to GTAIV the most, probably because GTA is one of the best game series in existence and Okami still needs to establish itself as a franchise. But alas, that will never happen as Clover Studios was shut down a few months ago by Capcom. So no more Okami for you!

But no people always want to beat hookers. :roll: Actually, each one is totally different - different setting, era, music, vehicles, weapons, missions etc. The only two things they keep the same are the clever links between them and the gameplay (but they do make many little refinements). For example Claud, the man you play as in GTAIII pops up in San Andreas to challenge CJ to a race. The same could be said for 90% of games in the industry which feature strikingly similar gameplay to their predecessors.

But like those series they put enough new content and gameplay to make it worthwhile...The difference in content between GTA 3 and San Andreas is huge..I think a lot of people here just bash on GTA because they feel that GTA is "Casual" just like a lot of people here erroneously bash on Madden for the same reason..And they are completely wrong about madden also..Madden happens to be one of the most hardcore games out there..

You do realize that the PS2 gamers failed Capcom by not buying Okami. Causing Capcom to have to close down Clover Studios. So Okami 2 won't be coming. When 50 cent Bulletproof outsells Okami 10 to 1. . .you know something is horribly wrong with your userbase. And I make these statements from the perspective of someone that has owned a PS2 since launch.

Again, this is the ESRBs problem, not Rockstar's nor the GTA franchise. If America had a legally enforcable ratings system like the UK, then you'd find that the Senate would never talk of it again. You won't find Jack Thompson or Hilary Clinton harking on about the violent games when they are completely inaccessible to our children. Plus if you have ever heard the tabloid hype surrounding GTA, and the ads on the radio and TV, you would know that they make it completely clear that this is an adult, M rated experience which should not be played by children. I believe the USAs obsession of 'free speech' is really to blame, not GTA.

I asked her how old her kid was and she said "12" My answer was "The game is called Vice City, does that really sound like a place you want your 12 year old playing in?" I would rather have Okami 2 if GTA is going to be more of the same with better visual.
But if Rockstar makes all the humans in the world have outstanding human-like AI, and every building can be entered at anytime, then I would rather have GTA 4.
Rockstar really needs to get real world sponsors to advertise in there games. GTA would benefit a lot by having McDonalds and stuff in the world. It would make it feel very realistic.

Don't be scared. The government is here to protect us. They not telling you how to raise your kids, just giving you tools on raising them right. In this day and age parents need lessons on raising a kid proper. Statistics show that this generation of kids are the most quick temper, short attention span kids in history. Gee, I wonder why?
