Let's face it, "Game 3.0" could only happen on Xbox 360 as it stands now. Thanks to Xbox Live's unified, highly cohesive architecture across all platforms (Xbox 360, Games for Windows, the Web and Mobile), things like this are possible. My single gamertag works on 360, original Xbox, PC, various Xbox-affiliated websites such as Xbox.com, Bungie.net, Forzamotorsport.net, EA.com, etc. etc. and it will work on Xbox Live Mobile when that is released.
So when I play Halo 3 and save a screenshot, it automatically appears on my Bungie.net profile, with no other action needed, no matter whether I'm playing from my console at home, or from my friend's console at his house. Same deal with all the other user-generated, shareable content on Bungie.net. In action, it's a wonder to behold.
It all starts with that unified architecture with the single identity. PSN doesn't have it. PSN tries to fake it, but it wasn't built from the ground up like Xbox Live was.
You can bleat about 640p all you want, but you're just trying to avoid the issue. "Game 3.0" is here, today, and Microsoft made it happen, not Sony. Of course, Sony will run their mouth and try to come up with a good emulation, but it'll be fake just like the PSN is a fake version of Xbox Live.
But hey, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
