Even without any explicit sex scenes, it still panders to the moe obsessed demographic.

Stories are there, but a significant portion of the audience plays visual novels to interact with anime girls. Saying it isn't erotic is plain dumb imo

Jandurin
Wat?

hey is your name at all related to the game sanitarium?

Nope.

[QUOTE="Jandurin"] the problem here is haka is not separating h-games from the visual novel genre which is some BS. if you want good hentai games, you've gotta specify that crap, you can't buy any old game that has girls that you can "date"hakanakumono

True, true.

Gotta admit your wrong, Haka.

I'm not saying that all visual novel games are H games I'm saying that H games are H games.

yes well, porn is porn. what's your point then?

Fans of the genre (visual novel) usually classify H-Games and eroges two different things, there are even websites dedicated to only eroges.

Kamaitachi no Yoru is just an adventure game, sorry but it's not a Visual Novel man.

Also, why did you post that link? It doesn't go anywhere.

Yandere

I've proven that it's a visual novel. It's categorized as a Sound Novel. Sound Novels are Visual Novels with a different name. Visual Novel falls under the Adventure game umbrella.

ビジュアルノベルそれ自体もアドベンチャーゲームの一種に分類される。

"The term 'Visual Novel' itself is one c lassification of the 'Adventure Game' genre. Japanese wins again.

The link came with my copy paste.

Visual Novel is a sub-genre of the Adventure genre, I honestly don't really understand what your trying to point out.. Sound Novel isn't even a video game sub-genre.

Yes it is, it's another word for "Visual Novel." That's why there are games like "Sound Novel Tsukuru" for Sega Saturn or something. It's clearly stated as a genre above.

For someone who devours Japanese text you would think that you would understand the sentence above that states "Sound Novel" is another term for "Visual Novel."

Under "genre" on the "Kamaitachi no Yoru" wikipedia page,

ジャンルサウンドノベル

Genre: Sound Novel

[QUOTE="SilverChimera"]

Good song, but it hasn't aged well. I think this a modern representation of the Rolling Stones and The Beatles.

I hope this song makes it into the game ^_^

SilverChimera

First time I've heard of this Justin Beiber. Just.. wut?

Really? He's considered to be the spiritual successor to the Beatles and the Rolling Stones.

Whatever you call it fans of the genre count games that focus purely on "H" and only tiny tidbits of "H" different.

Yandere

Haha, are you talking about this game? Because if you are I have to really disagree.

Well I look at the character designs and look at the story and I can tell that it will be erotic to some otaku. Playing a male character surrounded by a bunch of girls and getting to know them, etc. is a pretty old premise in visual novels.

I'm not saying some of them don't have good stories. I just know these designers keep all parts of their fanbase in mind when designing these games.

Well that's your problem, not mine. "Sound Novel" is another word for "Visual Novel," a term probably coined in order to list music or voicework as some sort of a "feature." If you look up "genre" and "Kamaitachi no Yoru" on google (in Japanese) "Sound Novel" comes up every time. I tried to post the link to the amazon.co.jp page, but gamespot wont let me because the link gets all garbled due to the Japanese.

Anyways, Kamaitachi no Yoru is a Visual Novel.

Well it is in the VNDB, but I still have a hard time not counting it as just another adventure game.

All I'm saying is the timid guy surrounded by cute anime girls premise is erotic in and of itself to many, as observed by the millions of other japanese properties based on the concept. It's a common otaku fantasy and the designers weren't oblivious to the fact when developing the game.
