That's not true at all. I have no dog in the JRPG fight. I actually love the genre and have played almost every localized JRPG this gen so far. Also my history with JRPGs go back all the way to the original Final Fantasy. I'm not a hater, nor do I have a purpose in being a fanboy in regards to JRPGs, and I most DEFINITELY have looked at the game. Go check out the Giantbomb ~15 min interview which shows a ton of gameplay. The story is the same used up JRPG tripe we've been fed for years. (Boy gains mysterious power, doesn't know how to use it. Must explore world to understand power and save a princess / kingdom from destruction.) Nothing special in the graphics department. It looks very similar to FFXI in my eyes. Not bad looking but, nothing special. The combat looked interesting, and definitely better than the average turn based. Also the building your own town looked decent, however the space they give you seemed rather small. Overall it looks like your run of the mill JRPG. On level with Eternal Sonata / Blue Dragon / Magna Carta 2. Which isn't necessarily anything WRONG with it. However right up the ally of mediocre. Unless of course KevinV reviews it, in which case I don't doubt AAA status.[QUOTE="mythrol"][QUOTE="Kashiwaba"]
Its safe to assume that WKC will be one of the best JRPGs of 2010 people who call it medicore are either fanboys, JRPG haters or didn't even bother looking at the game.
Kashiwaba
Well I played Eternal sonata, Blue dragon and Magna carta 2 and I tell you its miles ahead of them I played the Japanese version for about 5~ or 6 hours at a friend house and I can tell its probably one of the best JRPGs this generation probably only behind Lost odyssey, ToV and Valkyria chronicles.
Sure, I might even agree with you that WKC would be ranked right where you say it is. But how can you call it "One of the best JRPGs 2010." when even by your own estimations it's only the 4th best JRPG released so far, in a rather weak line up so far. That's like bragging about getting a participation ribbon at the special Olympics.
