White Knight Story The First True Next-Gen Rpg ? ( 56K Warning )

This WKC gameplay video failed to impress me. It just looks like another example of FFXII's watch your character do everything combat while you occasionally press some random attack command combat systam. It just looks so simple with no depth to it whatsoever.Dahaka-UK

Damn it! I really hope the whole "MMOsion" doesn't sink into the game more as well as the entire JRPG genre. I couldn't stand this crap in FFXII. Where's the strategy? The risk/reward of it all?

I think FFXII was trying to develop a new way of fighting and being the first of it's kind, newer games will only expand and improve upon it

Not an rpg fan so I am not sure if it will be good , but I am digging the style and this is probably my favorite trailer so far this generation.

Isn't Lost Odyssey a great RPG for this gen though? It was one I had been looking forward to since the first time I saw it as well, and the only reason I don't have it is cause I don't own a 360.

lol what game has? mass effect ill tell you there are 2 kinds of rpgs....turn based and real time, nearly every thing has been done before, the only way to do any thing new is to inject totally different genres then rpgs into rpgs, like mass effect did thats the only way to move the genre forward.

Except Mass Effect didn't do anything for the genre except make it appeal to the new generation of gamers who only like shooters. :|

But does not hold a candle to real next titles like Fable 2 or Fallout 3, it is the same linear stuff we have played for DECADES now, the best of the same old gen linear stuff, but still not next gen at all, and the graphics are not that good these days

White Knight is a better JRPG AND WRPG then Fable 2. The trees have more leaves, graphics are way better. Fable 2 is a lifeless pointless world theres no point in playing that crap

These graphics are subpar comparing to the best looking upcoming RPG's, like Fable 2 and Fallout 3, the lighting is just not there, and the textures flat

As for White Knight Story:

Its system looks innovative. But it still looks like Eastern garbage. I'd probably buy into it more if it weren't for the everpresent over-abundance of metrosexuals. Just look at how the main character runs for crying out loud!

Mass Effect is "The First True Next-Gen RPG" for me.

Yes and I can say Crysis is subpar to every FPS out there.. That doesn't stop me from enjoying other FPS's.. This RPG as well as the others all look fanastic.. I find it rediculous to some how look down on it, as being poor quality due to not having graphics as good as Fable..

So tired of the "True Next-Gen" phrases. This generation started with Xbox 360 and every single game that came along together with it, end of discussion.

And oh wow..this game does look amazing. Won't get a PS3 for quite a while though, too expensive for me at the moment and not too many games that I'm interested in. But I will eventually pick it up in the future, and this game will probably be one of the first ones I buy...and I don't even like JRPG :P
