Its enjoyable but its too linear to provide any replayability.

I don't care about the multiplayer of CoD and wish they would focus more on the single player. But they don't, so I don't buy their games anymore. Last CoD game I bought was CoD2.
I could barley stomach Black Ops's campaign, I just did to learn the controls and get used to the gameplay for MP. I couldn't stand how horrible the A.I. was.
i thought the original Modern Warfare had fantastic single player, outside of the second half of the Chernobyl level.
NOT ME. I can't stand its repetiveness. GO to point B from A, kill kill kill, go to point C from B, kill kill kil.. rinse and repeat with a few extra things to do like boat/snowmobile chases.- which aren't that great either. I find that there is no variety in the actualy gameplay.RibnarakIsn't this what you expect from a shooter? I'm not trying to sound smart btw. :)
I love it and I've never played any COD online. I've also been playing FPS since Doom, there's not many I haven't at least tried. All the stuff about it being god awful and a plague on the industry is FUBAR. It may be short, linear and recycles idea's but its a huge slice of awesome exciting gameplay.

I really enjoyed the Call of Duty 4 and Black Ops campaigns. "All Ghillied Up" is still my favourite COD mission of all time.
I love COD's singleplayer. For me it's very engaging and tense. I've enjoyed the stories of every COD since MW. The game does firefight better than almost any game out there (Halo, Gears, and BC2 are the only competition IMO) and besides some annoying respawning enemies, the games do a good job of being fair yet not being pushover easy.
I found them very average, I agree that MW2 sp was repetative. But- [QUOTE="Ribnarak"]NOT ME. I can't stand its repetiveness. But it's just that i feel spoonfed the whole way through the campaign. Yes it does have some exciting parts, its smooth and not really bugged, but the bottom line is that its just too easy (and im not talking about difficulty settings). Its just a matter of opinion obviously, but yeah i dont hate them nor do i like them. there just meh.
I like the single player portions, to be honest. CoD4 was great, some aspects of MW2 were awesome.
The level where you and Ghost had to defend the hardrive as it copied documents, the Burger Town fight, and the level where the EMP went off were literally jaw-dropping for me. Everything else in the single player felt sort of half-!@#ed, unfortunately.
I enjoyed almost all of Black Ops as well. Very well put together single player. The sotry might have been "meh", but the levels felt varied, and had a lot of great moments.
