While I agree that there are a lot of new gamers on PC that haven't experienced what the platform truly offers in terms of games, and mostly they only play blockbuster Console multiplats on higher settings than Consoles but that doesn't change the fact that there are still plenty of PC developers that develop games exclusively for PCs that are made for Mouse Keyboard/Monitor setup. The only genre that really died on PC last gen was Single Player FPS but now slowly it's coming back.
Good lord. I don't know when this breed of PC gamers came into existence but controllers have been part of PC gaming eons ago. This mouse and keyboard stupidity that is rampant on the internet is silly. Games are games. PC can support any game. There is no such thing as a "PC" game or a "Console" game. A game having controller support does not make it a console game but a game. A game having keyboard and mouse support does not make it a PC game but just another game. Geeeesh.
I know controllers were part of PC gaming but First Person Shooters on PCs were made for Keyboard Mouse/Monitor setup primarily. Which is the reason why they played faster than Console shooters if they are arcady or are more complex if they are realistic like ArmA 3 for example.
Most shooters these days are made for Consoles primarily. Which means levels and AI are tuned so they can work well with the Controller, since aiming is not as good as you are using the mouse (Show me a Console game that plays like Quake). Just go and take a look at Console version of Counter Strike and compare it to the PC version.
User interface is also designed for TVs in Console FPS games, which means it's too big when you are sitting close to your monitor and sometimes Field of View is also messed up. Just compare Unreal Tournament 3, which was made with Consoles in mind with Unreal Tournament 2004, which was made with PCs in mind and you'll see the difference.
Not saying games shouldn't support Controller on PC, just saying that there weren't enough SP FPS on PC last gen that took advantage of Mouse Keyboard and we were missing those games for quite some time.
