Who bought a Wii and actually enjoys it?!?

I do , I do...

I bought my Wii simply because I enjoyed the kiosks at the local mall. As a old skool gamer I enjoy all types of games and the few minutes spent with Wii Sports and Excitetruck grabbed my attention. Sometimes its good to just a graphics break and just have some fun. As a parent I noticed that my lil gamer to be (3 yr old), enjoyed the system as well which made for a nice family moment of gaming.

But just when I was about the label the Wii a "happy-joy-joy" system, I stumbled onto RE4 for the Wii. As a former GC owner, I played RE4 to hell and back but eventually sold my system/games for other gaming products. So with the "innovative" control scheme in RE4 I took a chance on it (its a budget title, so why not try it?). Needless to say, I was about the take the game back the very same night because I couldnt shake the old GC control scheme from my brain. Thankfully, I stuck with it for the rest of the night and now Im in gaming heaven.

In a nutshell, the Wii made me a believer that Ninty can hold its own this gen. If the Wii can pull off a great experience with a 2004 game, I only look forward to the new potential AAA titles coming this year.

Just me sharing my Wii experience, this topic may get locked, ignored, or whatever but as a gamer I felt it neccessary to say the Wii has the goods to being a great secondary system in my library.

For the fanboys, save your snide remarks, this is just a topic for people who OWN a Wii....

Twilight Princess and RE4 were pretty fun, Super Paper Mario was too stupid easy and repetitive to be much fun for me...

I'm holding out for more good games like Smash and Prime, but other then that I'm not having too much fun with it...

Yeah, I bought it on potential and Nintendo nostalgia....If The Big 3 aren't a big hit with me I think it's probably gonna be on it's way out sadly enough.

I own a 360 and play it all the time sometimes its nice to just unwind from being engulfed in strickly graphics and just run around the living room trying to play tennis. The Mii characters are completely silly because I didnt know (until I owned the system) that the characters are actually your game profile that follow you in games that suport it....nice touch Nintendo!

All the elitist haters who think MP8 is stupid should grow up and accept the fact that fun is fun no matter what way you spin it. I bought it tonight to play with a bunch of my friends, and we had a BLAST. A solid party game simply cannot be beaten for the MP experience.

What games do you own?

i don't buy alot of games i just rent them but i played Zelda TP kinda fun but just got really boring RE 4 it was okay better then what i thought it was going to bethen mario party 8 i really didn't like that game and there was super paper Mario i played for a good hour or so then stop playing i just cant bring my self to play a wii gamefor a really long time unless i have friends over

well you do have a point there..... but the wii just isn't for me

One of the reasons I bought the Wii is because I didnt want to miss out on some great games the way I did with my GC. Last gen I didnt experience the greatness of some of the GC titles until the system was late in its lifecycle. So while other gamers were looking forward to the upcoming lineup, I was busy playing the back catalog of games. I was skeptical of the GC at first but for the gaming gems it did produce, I enjoyed every minute of it. I didnt want to do this with the Wii so once it won me over with its quirky games, I wanted in on the ground floor...

Apparently, there are 3.6 million lemmings and cows on this site who own a Wii and hate everything about it, and feel the need to tell the world how terrible it is. I just tune them out and keep having the most fun I've had with video games since the NES with my Wii.

Thats why I made this topic, I enjoy the system and what it has brought into my library...NES variety and fun!!!

If you say you stopped at level 2-3, I swear... Grrrr, why did they make that damn grind of a level XD

Once you get later into games, generally they become harder to put down. Example, psi ops is a game I recently played, it started off slow, but after 2 or 3 hours, I have most powers and was kicking ass.

I've played Wii golf way too many times.dr-venkman

Thats the only game I really dont play...not because it isnt fun, just because Im usually bowling or playing tennis.

I bought a Wii and enjoy it.

Even though there aren't a lot of it's games worth getting right at this moment, it still has sufficient entertainment even without any physical games. Even if the entertainment is a waste of time sometimes, it's still pretty fun.

The two games I've been playing are Zelda TP and Red Steel(Yeah, Red Steel does suck, you don't have to tell me that one). I'm working on sidequests and stuff with Zelda and I'm almost done with Red Steel. Even though Red Steel's multiplayer experience is mediocre, that doesn't mean that it isn't fun to screw around with.

Right now I'm waiting for the big games to come out this fall. That will be satisfying. 8)

I haven't played any GC games lately on my Wii because of my setup. I have to rearrange it because I'm dying to play SSBM again. :cry:

EDIT: Oh yeah, I almost forgot about Wii Sports. It's entertainment value still hasn't gone down since I bought the system, even though I don't play it often.

I hear alot of people saying they bought the system and didnt like it. What exactly were you expecting when you made the purchase?!? Aside from the Wii remote, did you expect graphics to jump out of the screen at you? Did you really expect to feel the contact of the ball when you play Wii Baseball?

What made you set the bar so high and/or did you make a blind purchase or actually research the product before buying?

What sold me on the Wii was Zelda. But after that no "gamer friendly" games have come out.

I don't have one personally, but I spend a lot of time with a friend who does. Unfortunately, the only fun we have on it is with gamecube games.

I'm sure that the holy trinity of upcoming releases will fix that, though.

That's an internet pet peeve of mine. People who complain about a product they bought and how they were dissappointed simply because they didn't research what they were buying. I "E-Punch" those people in the face.

I can't get along without playing my favorite Nintendo franchises, so I was pretty pumped I wouldn't have to pay 400+ dollars for it. Once one of the other two systems pulls ahead of the other, I'll get one of them, but for now, I decided to stick with the company that never lets me down.
