Topic.

I think there's a good chance Microsoft may pick it up, right now development is only going on for the PC/360 version (With no PS3 version in sight), though it's hard to imagine Microsoft picking it up after they just sold the rights to it.

I hope Activision don't pick it up, that's all I have to say.

I hope a company like EA picks it up and not a company like Ubisoft.

Yeah, I'd be cool with EA, they've published some awesome stuff and for some reason Mass Effect 2 is still a 360/PC game (Though I wouldn't be surprised to see a PS3 port.). So yeah, EA's awesome.

Only things I care about from Ubisoft are Assassin's Creed and Splinter Cell, therest is junk to me.So no Ubisoft pl0x.

its probably going to be a smaller publisher....possibly atari (who are big...but are small fry compared to the likes of EA and activision). i know i will be picking up the PC version on its release though....unless its crap.....but i hope its not. i hope its not MS. if it is then the chances are very remote that we will see a PC version. there would be a bigger chance if sony picked up the publishing rights :S.

Haven't all the MechWarrior games been on the PC, indeed have been the main platform?

MechWarrior has always been a very PC series, so I think it would be stupid for ANY developer to cancel the PC version.

Hmm...I thought Atari was dead, I know they've published Riddick but what else have they've done recently?

I really doubt it would be Activision, they don't publish anything that they can't see annualization coming from. And this is the first MechWarrior in years. I would actually put down a small wager on Sega picking it up. Or Squenix. Squenix seems to be trying to move in on the PC-Publishing game, and Sega just in general has been surprising me by publishing decent games recently.

Interesting, why did MS drop FASA anyway? MechAssault seemed pretty good.

It probably didn't sell. That and MS recently got rid of almost all of their developers. Except Rare of course. They paid too much for Rare to just through them away.

That would be intersting if Square Enix did it.

And what else has Sega done good on to-date apart from Valkyria Chronicles? (That game is AWESOME!)

The Conduit and Mad World spring to mind. Neither were great, but they were good, and pretty risky to publish too. I'm pretty sure they published something else recently which surprised me, but I can't remember what it was off the top of my head :S

I can understand maybe why they dropped FASA because of Shadowrun, but why would you ever drop Ensemble? One of the stupidist things I've never heard. Microsoft needs to buy/make more 1st Studios.

Ah, forgot about those. Though that's probably since I haven't played them, so I can't judge.

Well I know they're publishing Alpha Protocol and AvP.

Ensemble wasn't entirely Microsoft's decision, it was on its way out anyway. A few of the heads of Ensemble explained that the developer was basicly falling apart anyway. And on the Sega thing, Alpha Protocol was the game I was thinking of...I think. That is a REALLY risky game to be publishing, as it could easily bomb. And I have nothing but the highest amounts of respect for Sega's decision to publish it.

Yeah...Well maybe Robot will be better, and I'm sure Microsoft will keep an eyeon them, Halo Wars 2 with Natal anyone?

Alpha Protocol looks interesting and cool, and CANNOT compare to Mass Effect 2 at all. I'll have to wait for reviews because I don't know how much Alpha Protocol is pushing the RPG genre like Mass Effect 2 is.

if MS get their hands on it then they will want to use it to boost 360 exclusives. MS moved the devs from making mech warrior games to mech assault games for the xbox (and they didnt touch the PC as far as i know)...i see no reason why they would change that policy for the new game. PC series or not....i dont see it coming to the PC if MS become the publisher. at best itll be delayed by a year on the PC....but i wouldnt get my hopes up. as for atari...i think there kinda ticking along. the european division is in pretty good shape last i heard (thank you witcher :) ) so maybe they might take this on. sega or square or capcom would also certainly be possibilities.
