They're complex? Since when?Ringx55being a first timer in an MMO can be alot to take in. I would like to know how an mmo like Eve managed to do so well.

yeah vanilla WoW before any of the expansions was one of the best gaming experiences ever, people played for fun and not to suck up to elitist guilds, or worry about balancing in the next patch, or gearing up gearing up.[QUOTE="Dead-Memories"]

Most MMOs leave a bad taste after a few hours. WoW was one of the few that didn't. It was such an amazing game back when I started. First character was a Night Elf Druid & being thrown into Azeroth not knowing much was awesome. Even after 4 years of playing I always missed the feeling of being lost & not knowing where everything was. The world was so epic & awesome to explore. Haven't played for a year now but when I remember the early days I feel like getting back into it, but then I remember what it's become & I come back to my senses.
With that said, I'd give up my social life once again if I could go back to the early days of WoW.

when the deadmines was a hard instance to beat, good times.
vanilla wow was awesome.
I just hate how blizzard releases expansions... making all my epics outclassed by green items? It pretty much ruins progression knowing that no matter how much time you spend working to get items, they are gonna all be worthless once the next expansion rolls around. After hitting the level cap in TBC i just stopped playing because it removed my incentive to farm for gear that was going to be worthless.
I much preferred everquest's expansion style... where you still needed to get alot of the old raid items to be able to raid the new expansion tiers.
The point of an MMO is progress with new content. It's dumb to let a game stagnate by keeping the same old content; you lose players in the process because they're tired of doing the same raid for years. It does suck to replace gear you've cherished for so long, but in the scheme of things, I'd rather have something new to go through than keep some cosmetic items forever... I really don't understand how people loved Vanilla WoW more than successive expansions, either. The raid mechanics and class mechanics in Vanilla were horrendous. It was so unrefined and unpolished and much less intricate in comparison to the encounters in WOTLK today. This is a fact. On the majority of servers, the ones that have been around since the launch of the original client, LESS guilds have downed Heroic 25-Man Lich King than C'Thun, Kel'Thuzad, or Kil'Jaeden at their heights. Most of the love for Vanilla WoW is just nostalgia. Anyone who's played it and stuck around with WoW to the present day knows that current content outclasses it.[QUOTE="ice144"]Be glad you aren't. I usually get addicted to MMO games so therefore I promised myself I would never touch WOW and I still haven't :Dgamebreakerz__
I never got addicted to MMO games, to me it's a big borefest, grinding, long quests(going to the other side of the world justto get some potions) and confusing interface. MMO games does not interest me.

ah dude, your halo Wars sig is awesome, I can really identify myself with it, I'm the one who always creates the Scarabs on my team and hate it when i'm up against someone who spams air units
Aye. And I am very glad that I'm incompatible with these games (fees).
I just can't see the appeal of them. I get that the structure of them is rewarding/addictive, but that means nothing to me when the actual gameplay is so incredibly tedious. Granted I haven't invested too much time into any one of them, but I have tried a bunch. Not WoW, oddly enough.
But I like the words spoken of The Secret World. And there was some other thing, but it's currently slipping my mind.

Its not the actual game thats complex, its understanding how everything works and knowing how to play it...
If you think you're going to join a game (lets say WoW) and PVP (Arenas) you are out of your mind...you need some serious keyboard skill, macros to really be ANY good and get past 2000. If you mean leveling up, any dumb @#$# can level up....but ive met people who can heal their asses off, or tank better than others...it really does take SKILL, just like any game thats involves thinking and using your brain.
WoW arena is some of the most serious stuff in gaming, you literally need to spend hours researching techniques and even longer executing properly with your team. now that I look back at it, WoW arena probably got me more angry than any other gaming prospect, ever :lol:As a mage, rogues in world pvp make me more angry than arena. Such a cheap class imo.
i played as a rogue, the most fun and balanced class imo :) besides, they're at the bottom of the foodchain now, we can't even beat locks 1v1 anymore :( at least from when I stopped.I've only tried WoW, some free games and a litle bit of Age of Conan, so damn boring, i played WoW until level 14 and never touched that game and that genre again.

I think strategically, few Vampire and engineers came along with you Scarab helps.
I think there is one reason why i dont like mmo rpgs.
First of all no one wants to play with.
and
Two i hate grinding in mmo. combat is slow and boring idk just my opinion
