Heh, your loss. I respect that a lot of people like the original HL a lot... I just felt it was trumped in a lot of areas by FPS's that came before it - namely DN3D - and it basically survived on technical merits (good graphics, modding added value). So, now that they're remaking it, I'm not lining up to be bored all over again.
I respect people who didn't think the original was *that* fantastic. I, personally, thought it was a great experience. Though it was a shame it got so much attention, which didn't allow games like System Shock 2 to get the attention they deserved. But HL is still a game I'll never forget...

It's a Loop-hole That someone could do in order to make money off a mod without a License to the Engine. People can't Charge for a Mod without the required License or Dev Support but they can Charge people access to the Website in order to download the Mod.
I've seen it happen with a retexture Mod for UT2k4 (some people can stoop this low).

I try not to get hyped for mods since you never know how long they'll take or how they really turn out. But definately interested, hell I'd pay for it if Valve bought and finished it.

*raises hand* Half Life was one of the best and definative gaming experiences I have had, and its nostalgia is pretty strong to me. I cant wait for Black Mesa Source because of it. Still, if it isn't very good then well, i'm going to know it.
i don't think this game will ever come out. i remember somebody showing this off a couple of months ago.xscott1018
it's a mod. These guys have absolutely nothing to lose and all to gain, what would keep them from releasing this? Hell even if they decided to quit it would still get released, just not in a very good state :P

Oh okay, ive been playing plenty of HL2 mods, but ive always liked UT2K4 vanilla so whatever.
But yeah, these days its not that hard to beat these cheap asses:P
